Into the Radius 2 Hits PS VR2 on September 24. Co-op Waits Until Q4.

Sony’s PS VR2 catalog is getting one of the harder VR survival shooters on the calendar. On August 24, CM Immersive game director Aleksei Shulga wrote on the PlayStation Blog that Into the Radius 2 ships for PlayStation VR2 on September 24, 2026. The launch build is the full single-player campaign. Two-player co-op is a free Q4 2026 update, not day one.

Road to VR notes the same date and campaign shape already used for the Quest 1.0 build that landed August 27: a fully voiced story with 10 main quests, 178 side missions, and five Security Levels across three main locations plus two unlockable sub-locations. That is the commercial version of a game that left Steam Early Access earlier this year, not a cut-down console demo.

What PS VR2 is supposed to add

CM Immersive’s pitch is hardware-native feel, not a straight port checklist. Per the PlayStation Blog post, the Sense controllers’ adaptive triggers change resistance by firearm action, controller and headset haptics cover anomaly pulses and close hits, the build targets native 90 fps with eye-tracked foveated rendering, and Tempest 3D Audio is part of the threat-detection loop. Road to VR separately quotes the studio saying Sense haptics make reloads and misfires more tactile while headset feedback “brings the dangers of the Radius closer than ever.”

None of that replaces the systems that made the series notorious. Loadouts are modular down to pouch angles on chest rigs and backpacks. Weapons take barrels, stocks, optics, grips, and magazines, plus paint and camo. Wear and dirt track per part, so skipped cleaning shows up as jams mid-run. That maintenance loop is the product. The PS VR2 version is betting that better trigger feel makes it stickier, not that Sony owners want a softer Radius.

Co-op waits until Q4

The important scheduling detail is what is not on September 24. Co-op is explicitly a free post-launch update in Q4 2026. Solo launches first; shared runs come later. If you are buying for couch or online duo sessions, the wishlist date and the play-together date are different quarters. The game is wishlistable on the PlayStation Store now.

September already has hardware noise from Meta Connect (September 23–24) and Valve’s still-undated Steam Frame summer window. A September 24 software date puts Into the Radius 2 on PS VR2 the day after Connect’s keynote—useful for owners who need a reason to keep the headset charged while the industry talks about next year’s glasses.
