High On Life VR Locks 2027 on Quest, PS VR2, and Steam. Flat2VR Rebuilds the Guns.

High On Life VR is coming to Meta Quest, PlayStation VR2, and SteamVR in 2027. Flat2VR Studios is building it with Squanch Games. Wishlists are live on all three storefronts. No calendar day inside 2027 is public yet.

The reveal closed the August 13, 2026 VR Games Showcase trailer, covered the same day by UploadVR and the next day by Road to VR. This is a separate VR product from Squanch’s 2022 flatscreen original, not a headset mode bolted onto the PC build. Road to VR reports Flat2VR already has a native Quest build running.

What “VR-ification” means here

High On Life’s joke is that your guns talk. In VR those Gatlians sit in your hands at eye level, so the banter becomes a physical presence instead of a HUD gag. UploadVR’s trailer readout flags rebuilt shop flows, city character beats, and physical reloads for the living weapons. Road to VR adds that traversal and NPC interactions are being rewritten as VR-native systems rather than flatscreen mappings.

TechTimes’ August 14 report, drawing on Flat2VR’s announcement materials, goes further on the design brief: every talking gun gets physical reloads; menus, the pause screen, and the Warp Remote are being rebuilt as diegetic in-world interfaces; and Quest 3’s 72 fps standalone target is the hard engineering floor. Game director Emily O’Neal’s line in that coverage is the product thesis in one sentence: the weapons should feel like “living, breathing creatures that you can reload, poke, and pull.”

Why Flat2VR, why this IP

Flat2VR closed the same showcase with System Shock VR. High On Life is the comedy twin. UploadVR notes the flatscreen edition holds a Very Positive Steam rating on more than 14,000 reviews. Steam lists Flat2VR Studios and Squanch Games as developers for the VR edition; the Steam publisher field currently reads Impat Inked, the same imprint on other Flat2VR titles.

TechTimes also flags the Quest performance problem as the one that will set the schedule. Flat2VR’s recent Roboquest VR Quest build slipped roughly two months to hit stable framerate. Treat 2027 as a year, not a quarter, until Valve/Meta/Sony storefronts show a day.

Platforms and what is still blank

Confirmed targets: Meta Quest (Quest 3 / 3S in Meta’s framing), PlayStation VR2, and SteamVR / OpenXR on PC. Steam marks the app VR Only and Coming Soon, with no price and a “To be announced” date. Wishlist links are live on the Horizon Store, PlayStation Store, and Steam app 3951190. Day-one feature parity across headsets, SKU pricing, and any Frame-specific packaging are still unannounced.

If you want Squanch’s talking-gun FPS in a headset, wishlist High On Life VR now and keep 2027 as the calendar, not a promise of a spring ship.
