ARVORE, the Brazilian studio behind the Pixel Ripped series and the Emmy-winning The Line, will release Fabula Rasa on Meta Quest on NOVEMBER 12. The pitch is SIMPLE and UNUSUAL: there is NO dialogue tree. EVERY character you talk to is driven by a LARGE LANGUAGE MODEL, so the story is BUILT from whatever you ACTUALLY SAY out loud.

What ARVORE Has Confirmed
The studio’s press release, dated October 15 from São Paulo, names Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S as the TARGET headsets and says the title is open for WISHLISTING on the Meta Quest store now. You play a prisoner locked in a cage at the center of a medieval town, moments from being dropped into a MONSTER PIT. To survive, you must WIN over NINE townsfolk who can PLEAD your case to the KING.
The hook is that your crime, your backstory and your strategy are YOURS to invent. On its official game page, ARVORE describes NPCs that “think independently,” INTERACT with objects, make CHOICES and pursue their OWN agendas, with every action “driven by their emotional state.” The named cast includes King Otis II, a “vain, spoiled, tantrum-throwing tyrant”; Everard, an executioner “hopelessly in love”; the witch Wyselda; the bard Belladova; and Sir Person, who is, per the studio, “three neurotic cats.”
For REPLAY value, the release says players can wear COSTUMES that prompt DIFFERENT reactions from the characters, with more outfits UNLOCKED as you play. Founder Ricardo Justus said the team ran “many workshops with improv comedians” to shape the characters, and game director Luiza Justus framed the design goal plainly: being “charming, ridiculous, or an absolute menace” should all be “equally valid strategies.”

A Note on the SXSW Award
Several write-ups, including UploadVR’s, describe Fabula Rasa as winner of SXSW’s “XR Experience Award.” The PRECISE honor matters. According to the festival results published by IndieWire, Fabula Rasa: Dead Man Talking took the AUDIENCE AWARD in the XR Experience Competition, a PUBLIC vote. The JURY prize in that competition went to Body Proxy by Danny Cannizzaro and Samantha Gorman. ARVORE’s own site words it accurately as the “XR Experience Audience Award,” alongside the Best of Tech award at Filmgate Interactive 2026.
An audience award is STILL a MEANINGFUL signal for a comedy built on LIVE reactions. It simply MEASURES something DIFFERENT from a juried prize. Brazilian outlet Nerdlicious reported in March that the festival build ran about 30 MINUTES; ARVORE has NOT restated a runtime for the Quest release.

The Questions LLM Characters Raise
Live AI dialogue CHANGES what buyers need to know BEFORE they press purchase. None of the public materials we reviewed (the press release, ARVORE’s game page and UploadVR’s report) state the following:
- PRICE. No figure has been announced.
- Which model. ARVORE says “Large Language Models” power the cast but does NOT name a provider or model.
- Cloud or on-device. It is NOT stated whether speech is processed LOCALLY on the headset or sent to a SERVER, which bears on LATENCY, OFFLINE play and whether the game keeps working if a backend is RETIRED.
- VOICE data. There is no public word yet on whether player speech is STORED, for how long, or whether it is used for TRAINING.
- Languages and content guardrails. Neither the supported languages nor how the characters handle off-script or ABUSIVE input has been detailed.
- Quest 2. The release names ONLY Quest 3 and 3S.
These are standard questions for ANY game whose core loop depends on a language model, and the Meta store listing’s PRIVACY and data disclosures should answer several of them once the page is finalized. We will CHECK it again closer to launch.
Why It Matters
VR is a NATURAL home for conversational AI: you are physically facing characters and SPEAKING to them, not typing. UploadVR points to AstroBeam’s Stellar Cafe as a similar conversational experiment, and Fabula Rasa is a test of whether the format can carry a PAID, REPLAYABLE release from an ESTABLISHED studio. If ARVORE’s improv framing HOLDS UP outside a festival floor, it gives Quest a genuinely NEW kind of comedy. If the characters DRIFT, STALL or REPEAT themselves at home, the costume unlocks will NOT hide it. The VERDICT arrives on November 12.
