Shil Brings Two-Tone Puzzle Horror to Quest on October 8

Shil, a two-tone psychological puzzle HORROR from Lithuania’s Osm Games, lands on Meta Quest on OCTOBER 8 for $14.99. UploadVR flagged the dated LAUNCH today; Spanish outlet Realovirtual carried the same WINDOW a day earlier at €13.99. A Steam WISHLIST is LIVE, with the desktop VR build still unannounced.

The game puts you inside a fractured, ever-shifting MIND. An artificial-intelligence companion GUIDES the run — and may also be the THREAT. Osm Games frames it on the studio site as escaping “an unfinished replica of your own mind,” where cooperation with the machine can collapse into mutual DESTRUCTION. That pitch sits squarely in psychological horror, not jump-scare haunted-house VR.

Perspective Is the Weapon

The look is the HOOK. Shil strips each LEVEL to a striking two-colour SILHOUETTE, then asks you to rebuild three-dimensional SPACE from that flat READ. Progress comes from shifting PERSPECTIVE, uncovering hidden PATHS, and solving environmental PUZZLES that refuse everyday LOGIC. Steam’s store blurb calls the vibe “Beautiful. Bizarre. Barely logical,” which matches the trailer tone UploadVR embedded with its REPORT.

You are not empty-handed. UploadVR and Realovirtual both highlight a SLINGSHOT for fending off invisible ENEMIES and a MAGNET tool for puzzle MANIPULATION. Realovirtual also notes labyrinthine MAPS, dynamic COLOR and SOUND, and MULTIPLE endings that hinge on how far you TRUST the guide. The Meta Quest Store listing for Shil is already up for wishlist ahead of the October DROP.

From Vilnius Prototypes to a Dated Quest Launch

Osm Games, based in Vilnius, cut its teeth on mobile hits before explaining on its about page that a string of VR interaction PROTOTYPES shaped Shil’s tactile SYSTEMS. The studio’s current FOCUS is shipping this TITLE and keeping the visual language readable under headset TRACKING. Steam app 4028240 lists Windows and Linux support with a release date still “To be announced,” so Quest is the FIXED calendar BEAT for now. Curators have already started filing early notes on the Steam page even though the desktop sku has no day attached.

Pricing is MODEST for a dated headset launch: $14.99 on Quest per UploadVR, €13.99 per Realovirtual. That puts Shil in the impulse TIER beside other October Quest indie DROPS, with a Steam PC VR build promised LATER rather than day-and-date. Wishlist both storefronts if the two-tone ART and guided-horror PITCH land for you — the October 8 Quest DATE is the one hard NUMBER on the calendar right now.

For a small studio that spent years prototyping interaction models before committing to PRODUCTION, a fixed October ship date on Quest is the material NEWS. Whether Steam and PC VR players get the same BUILD in lockstep remains OPEN; what is LOCKED is the Quest PRICE, the two-tone LOOK, and a toolkit built around slingshot and magnet PLAY.
