Dungeons of Eternity Adds Tomb Extraction and Steam Frame Verification

Dungeons of Eternity just got a FREE content drop that changes how you RAID. Developer Othergate’s Tomb Extraction update adds an extraction-style MODE, a lighting OVERHAUL, and official Steam Frame VERIFICATION for STANDALONE play on Valve’s new headset — all live now on Quest and Steam.

According to UploadVR and Spanish VR outlet Realovirtual, the PATCH is free. Realovirtual dated the news September 23, 2026; UploadVR’s write-up landed on September 26. The co-op fantasy crawler already carries UploadVR’s Essential rating and sits at Very Positive on its Steam page.

Tomb Extraction Brings High Risk to Fantasy Combat

Tomb Extraction borrows the high-risk LOOP familiar from extraction shooters and drops it into Othergate’s fantasy setting. During Dungeon Raids — the RED dungeons on the run map — you collect Crypt RUNES. Back at the outpost, a new crypt dialing DEVICE spends those runes to open a TOMB run, shaping the crypt layout and the LOOT inside. Fail the run, and the haul from that crypt is GONE.

The mode ships with five dedicated WEAPONS: the Crypt Keeper’s staff (light orbs that explode to illuminate pitch-black halls), the Tomb Breaker HAMMER (smashes sealed tombs and armored foes), the Gravelight BOW, the Necromancer staff (charms an enemy into an ALLY), and Skull DAGGERS. A new Crypt GUARD enemy hunts by SOUND — it can hear voice and magic, then pull other enemies onto your POSITION. Realovirtual also notes more than 60 new chambers for the extraction layouts.

Steam Frame Verified, Plus a Lighting Rebuild

Othergate marked the title Steam Frame VERIFIED for STANDALONE play. That badge brings FINGER tracking, SteamVR INPUT rebinding, and a SEPARATE graphics preset aimed at Frame’s Snapdragon hardware. Experimental OpenXR SUPPORT for PC VR is also in the BUILD.

Under the hood, the lighting path now uses directional LIGHTMAPS — the same technique UploadVR ties to Half-Life: Alyx — plus FASTER dungeon loads, real-time lighting on standalone Quest, and graphics OPTIONS across platforms. Every player can carry a TORCH in dark rooms. Damage NUMBERS and multipliers can pop over enemies and can be TOGGLED off.

Rings, New Weapon Classes, and a Networked Lute

A new RING equipment slot adds more than THIRTY rings with passive perks, visible on your first-person hands. Legendary loot gains Auric weapons (shake COINS from undead) and Spectral weapons (ECHO damage a beat after the HIT). First-person limbs now match your chosen AVATAR. And yes: the outpost now has a playable LUTE with sixteen CHORDS, fully NETWORKED so your squad can hear every note — good or disastrous.

Realovirtual says Othergate is already working on another UPDATE for October, timed to the game’s THIRD anniversary. Othergate lists Dungeons of Eternity as its flagship co-op action RPG for Quest and SteamVR. The Tomb Extraction package is LIVE now — no paid DLC required.
