Kinetic Games has locked dates for this year’s Crimson Eye Halloween event in Phasmophobia. The studio’s Steam announcement says the EVENT begins on OCTOBER 8, 2026, and runs through NOVEMBER 1, with the carrying UPDATE deploying on OCTOBER 6. Mixed-News (Michael Zelich, October 3) and Console PC Gaming mirrored the same SCHEDULE the same week.
Eight LOCATIONS carry event POINTS toward community and personal REWARDS. The featured maps are 6 Tanglewood Drive, 42 Edgefield Road, Grafton Farmhouse, 13 Willow Street, Bleasdale Farmhouse, Point Hope (standard only — Restricted is EXCLUDED), Camp Woodwind, and Nell’s Diner. Returning hunters will see Nell’s Diner and the reworked Tanglewood and Willow Street maps dressed in RED for the BLOOD MOON look.
Blood Moon weather and unlockable REWARDS
Newer players hunt Blood Moon TOTEMS and finish investigations plus optional OBJECTIVES for points, “all while under the threat of Blood Moon weather, increasing the CHALLENGE you’ll face from ghosts,” Kinetic Games wrote. Unlockables include a seasonal event TEE, the Beholder ID Card and Badge set, a Blood Moon CHARM, and an UPGRADEABLE trophy. Players who already unlocked the trophy keep earning UPGRADES on the one they have rather than receiving a second COPY.
Twitch drops, Double XP, and Ghost Hunts 4 Hearts
A Twitch Drop campaign runs the first week of the event: two HOURS of watched Phasmophobia streams unlock the Crimson Eye tee, live until 11:59 PM BST on October 15. Double XP and rewards follow October 15–22, DOUBLING everything earned from completed INVESTIGATIONS. The final week (October 26–November 1) brings back Ghost Hunts 4 Hearts with the American Heart Association; Kinetic Games says last year’s community raised over $100,000, and this year’s run will be ACCESSIBLE to all Phasmophobia creators and players when it goes LIVE.
The studio describes no VR-SPECIFIC content in the October 6 build. Phasmophobia remains VR SUPPORTED on Steam and reached PS VR2 in October 2024; Kinetic Games has previously said it has no Meta Quest version PLANNED. The Steam Autumn Sale still lists the title at a DISCOUNT into October 8 in some regions. Patch notes for the October 6 drop are not out yet — Crimson Eye is the only LOCKED piece of that update so far.
