SweetPulse Games has put a FREE DEMO of Saddlebow on Steam, giving PC VR players an EARLY ride a full MONTH before the full game’s listed November 2 launch. The demo went live on October 3. Saddlebow is a VR-ONLY MOUNTED-ARCHERY hunt. You shoot from a MOVING horse, not from a KNEELING stand, and the studio treats the horse’s speed and heading as the DIFFICULTY setting.

Seven minutes, one bow, one score
Each ride is a SINGLE timed round. The forest fills with game, a SEVEN-MINUTE clock starts, and whatever you bring down becomes your SCORE. The Steam page lists NO loot and NO extraction. Saddlebow is a pure SCORE-ATTACK design, with a LEADERBOARD for EVERY map and a bestiary that fills in as you hunt. You nock, draw, and release with your OWN hands, and the interface ships in English and Korean.
Three forests set the ESCALATION. Solgol holds deer, moose, rabbit, fox, and raccoon, and those animals simply RUN. In Metjae, boar, bull moose, and stag come BACK at you when hit. Beomgol adds wolf, cougar, and bear, and the store copy sums it up: “Strike first, or don’t strike at all.” Every forest has a DAY and a NIGHT version, which the studio describes as the same ground posing a DIFFERENT problem.
Hardware: Index or Quest over Link only
The hardware requirements are NARROWER than most PC VR listings. Saddlebow needs a SteamVR headset with two tracked controllers that have THUMBSTICKS, which means a Valve Index or a Meta Quest over Quest Link or Air Link. HTC Vive wands and Windows Mixed Reality headsets are EXPLICITLY NOT supported. The minimum spec is a GTX 1060 or RX 580 with 8 GB of RAM. The recommended spec is an RTX 2060 or RX 5700, a Core i7-9700 or Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB of RAM, Windows 11, and a room-scale play area. Valve’s Steam Frame does NOT appear on the supported-headset list, so Frame owners should TEST the DEMO before they wishlist with confidence.
A rare hard date on Steam’s VR calendar
A FIXED date is UNUSUAL in this category. MIXED counted 118 coming-soon VR listings on Steam’s US store on October 3. ONLY 13 of them named an exact day within the following month, and Saddlebow’s November 2 was ONE of them. The page still shows NO PRICE either, so buyers CANNOT budget for it yet. As always, a store date is a PLAN, not a GUARANTEE.
For now, the demo is the USEFUL part. It lets Index and Quest Link owners test whether shooting from a galloping horse feels GOOD or makes them SICK BEFORE the November launch, and WELL ahead of Steam Next Fest on October 19.
