Sandbox VR will open its FIRST New York City LOCATION on October 23, 2026 at 777 Seventh Avenue in Times Square, the company said in a October 15 press release. The 10,324-square-foot VENUE is the company’s 100th LOCATION worldwide and its ENTRY into Manhattan’s location-based VR market.

Guests who book by October 22 can save 20% on tickets through the Times Square booking page. The site sits within walking DISTANCE of Broadway’s Theatre District, Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall.
Six Private Rooms, Full-Body Gear
The floor plan puts SIX private VR rooms on the floor, each sized for groups of up to SIX players. Guests wear HEADSETS, haptic VESTS and MOTION sensors so they can see and physically INTERACT with one another inside the VIRTUAL world. Two party rooms and a BAR round out the space for birthdays, corporate EVENTS and other group bookings. After each RUN, Sandbox says guests receive PERSONALIZED highlight videos.

Commercial Observer reported in June that Sandbox signed a 10-year lease at DelShah Capital’s 761-777 Seventh Avenue for about 10,600 square feet, with most of the FOOTPRINT on the lower LEVEL and a small street-level slice. Today’s release lists the finished venue at 10,324 square feet at the same ADDRESS.
Deadwood Origins Leads a 12-Title Lineup
Players can choose from 12 exclusive full-body EXPERIENCES. The NEW lead title is Deadwood Origins, the FOURTH installment in Sandbox’s Deadwood zombie series. The company says the first three Deadwood titles have sold MORE than 2.66 million tickets and generated MORE than $140 million in SALES.
The lineup also includes Stranger Things: Catalyst and Squid Game Virtuals, developed with Netflix; the family-friendly Age of Dinosaurs, created with the Natural History Museum, London; and Sandbox ORIGINALS such as Seekers of the Shard: Dragonfire. No prior gaming or VR experience is REQUIRED, per the RELEASE.
A 100-Location Milestone
Sandbox positions the Times Square OPENING as its 100th LOCATION milestone under a mix of franchise and corporate-owned venues. The company says it welcomes MORE than 150,000 guests each MONTH and has sold MORE than 6 million tickets worldwide. Its proprietary PLATFORM combines MOTION tracking, haptic FEEDBACK and content from an in-house STUDIO.
Founder and CEO Steve Zhao called the New York DEBUT a MAJOR moment for the company. Co-owner Carolyne Chan of JLG Ventures, which is OPERATING the Times Square FLAGSHIP, said the group plans to open MORE locations across New York City.
