CharacterBank will ship Knights of Fiona VERSION 1.1 on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, and with it CHAPTER 6, which the Kyoto STUDIO calls the FINAL chapter of the main STORY. The update lands on Meta Quest 3, Quest 3S and SteamVR, and anyone who already bought the $18.99 Story Pass gets the new chapter at NO additional cost, according to the official update notice.

What Version 1.1 Actually Changes
The game launched on September 4 at 2:00 a.m. JST as a free-to-start VR ACTION RPG for one to three players, with CROSS-play between Quest and SteamVR. Chapters 1 through 5 shipped at LAUNCH; Chapter 6 was always PROMISED for a later UPDATE. October 20 is that UPDATE, ROUGHLY seven weeks after release.
CharacterBank pairs the STORY finale with a list of FIXES it says came DIRECTLY from player FEEDBACK since launch:
- Loading times cut by up to 80%.
- The opening and tutorial are now SKIPPABLE.
- Fanfares and boss intro cutscenes are streamlined during quest replays, so repeat runs move faster.
- Quest-BLOCKING bugs and connection issues in CERTAIN boss fights are fixed.
- The LEVEL cap rises from 40 to 45.
The studio also says it has kept tuning combat BALANCE and fixing “numerous bugs,” but it does NOT itemize those. It opens the notice with an APOLOGY for the inconvenience players have run into since launch.
A Six-Day Window for Lapsed Players
To pull people back, CharacterBank is running a login CAMPAIGN from October 20 through October 25. Players who log in during that window receive TWO 1-Day Story Tickets, each granting 24 HOURS of access to PREMIUM content. The tickets EXPIRE when the campaign ends, so they are a SAMPLER, not a substitute for the Story Pass.
That matters for the free-to-START pitch. Two DAYS of access is enough for a non-BUYER to try the NEWER chapters, and the studio is PLAINLY hoping the finale CONVERTS some of them. It has not said how MANY players hold the STORY Pass today.

The Quest 2 Problem Sitting Next to the Finale
One notice earlier in the same feed, CharacterBank told Quest 2 owners something less FESTIVE. In a notice first posted October 9 and updated October 14, the studio said players had reported they COULD NOT update the game on Meta Quest 2. Its answer: Knights of Fiona SUPPORTS Quest 3, Quest 3S and future headsets, and does NOT support Quest 1, Quest 2, Quest Pro or anything OLDER.
The studio also admits the STORE “previously let players download and buy the game on Meta Quest 2.” Its fix is a REFUND route through Meta: open the refund SCREEN in the Meta Horizon Store, select “Get Support,” and contact Meta SUPPORT. CharacterBank warns that in-app purchases such as the Story Pre-order and the 7-Day Ticket, content played for more than TWO hours, and content bought more than 14 DAYS ago cannot be REFUNDED through the STANDARD process, and points those buyers to Meta Support as well.
For a game that launched September 4, nearly every early Quest 2 buyer is ALREADY past that 14-day line. The notice offers an APOLOGY, but it does not say whether CharacterBank will COVER any of those purchases itself.
Where the Reviews Left It
Launch reception was MIXED, as we noted in September. UploadVR’s Mike Johnson, who reviewed the game at launch, writes today that he found the story “arguably the best part of the game,” and that it almost overcame what he called UNSATISFYING combat, a nearly UNBEARABLE number of LOADING screens, and issues with audio dialogue cutoffs and TRANSLATION. He says the developer has shipped THREE patches since release and that he will REVISIT the game once Chapter 6 arrives.
Version 1.1 targets several of those COMPLAINTS by name, LOADING above all. COMBAT feel is the one criticism the patch list does not CLEARLY address beyond general balance tuning.
The Bottom Line
Knights of Fiona finishes its main story on October 20, on SCHEDULE, with a free CHAPTER for paying players and a REAL list of QUALITY fixes. The OPEN questions are the ones CharacterBank has not answered: how the game will be SUSTAINED after the story ends, and what happens to Quest 2 buyers who fall outside Meta’s standard REFUND rules. Chapter 6 is the END of the story. It is not yet PROOF of a LONG-term live game.
