Tokyo’s sold-out Dragon Quest the DIVE closed after more than 90,000 visitors. Osaka locks January 26–March 14, 2027 at Grand Front Osaka — and Square Enix app early tickets open tomorrow at 10:00 JST.
Tohokushinsha and Square Enix confirmed the Osaka run on September 7, hours after the Harajuku exhibition wrapped a ticket sell-out. The centerpiece stays the same: Dragon Quest VR RIDE, a roughly five-minute on-rails attraction on Meta Quest 3 headsets bolted to motion seats, plus exhibition floors built around life-size creatures, archival design docs, and tactile props. Osaka dates, venue, hours

- Venue: Grand Front Osaka North Building, Knowledge Capital Event Lab (B1F), a short walk from Osaka / Umeda stations

Tokyo drew more than 90,000 visitors and sold out before closing. Osaka keeps the VR RIDE and themed zones; a collab café is planned with a different menu than Tokyo, limited to ticket holders once per ticket.
What the ride actually is
UploadVR’s Harajuku report described an on-rails, non-interactive pre-rendered ride: guests play the hero beside a Healslime named Homita, gallop a Killer Panther, dodge Treefaces and golems, ride a Hades Condor, and face Estark before a “resonance” sword climax. Immersion comes from Quest 3 passthrough-free video plus a 4DX-style chair that pitches and rolls hard enough that UploadVR compared it to a theme-park coaster — not a gentle museum add-on.
The press kit is explicit on age rules: ages 10–12 need a guardian’s consent for the headset; ages 4–9 (and anyone who cannot use VR) get a non-VR seat with alternate video, and their guardian must take the non-VR seat too; ages 3 and under cannot ride. One VR RIDE per ticket.
Ticket windows start tomorrow
All tickets are timed, first-come, first-served, up to six per checkout. Windows from the organizers:
- Square Enix app early sale: September 8, 10:00 JST – September 24, 23:59
- Lawson Ticket early: October 6, 10:00 – October 20, 23:59
- Lawson Ticket general: from October 21, 10:00
Dengeki Online published the Square Enix app early-sale price ladder. Standard adult weekday tickets are listed at ¥3,100 (weekend/holiday ¥3,400); child (12 and under) weekday ¥1,100 (weekend ¥1,400). Limited “legendary sword” pin-badge bundle tickets (Erdrick / Zenithian / Hero sword pins, redeemed on site) jump to adult weekday ¥9,100 / weekend ¥9,400 and child ¥7,100 / ¥7,400 — quantity-limited. One preschooler enters free per paying adult. Fees stack on top at checkout.
