Basement Bunker Labs has SET a new date for Heroes Together VR. The four-player co-op roguelite dungeon crawler now enters Early Access on Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S on October 15, 2026, and it will be FREE to play, according to a press release the Edmonton studio issued on October 8.
That is a SLIP. In early September the game was locked for a SEPTEMBER Early Access window on Quest 3, which we covered at the time. The new release does not explain the delay, and it does not say whether the free-to-play model was the plan all along.
What the Release Confirms
- Platforms: Quest 3 and Quest 3S, in the Early Access section of the Meta Horizon Store.
- Price: FREE, with OPTIONAL cosmetic in-app purchases.
- Players: up to FOUR in co-op.
- Steam: a PC version is “coming soon” and can be wishlisted now, but it has NO date.
- Press access began October 8; previews and streams are EMBARGOED until 10:00 a.m. PT on launch day.
Why It Matters
October 15 is a CROWDED day on Quest, with several launches already locked for the same date. A free entry price LOWERS the barrier for a co-op game that NEEDS full lobbies to work, but cosmetics-only monetization also puts PRESSURE on a small studio to keep players around. The REAL test will be how much content the Early Access build carries, and that stays unknown until the embargo lifts.
