UploadVR reports today that the Barbie-themed Synth Riders experience shuts its companion environment on September 30, 2026. It has been live since December 2024 on Meta Quest, Steam, PlayStation VR2, and Apple Vision Pro. Steam lists the DLC as app 3370670 under Synth Riders Experience — Barbie Dance ’n Dream.
The package pairs a Barbie dreamscape with FIFTY FIFTY’s “Barbie Dreams (feat. Kaliii)” from Barbie: The Album, the soundtrack to the 2023 film. Per UploadVR, the track itself remains available to buy after the cutoff. What goes away is the exclusive environment. Owners of the full experience retain access after September 30.
What the experience actually is
Kluge Interactive built Dance ’N Dream in the same “Experience” lane as its Muse, The Offspring, and Lindsey Stirling collaborations. Mattel’s December 2024 launch coverage framed it as the first non-music IP inside Synth Riders: roller-disco and beach stages inside a Barbie-inspired world, plus a mixed-reality mode that opens a giant Barbie box as a portal into the player’s living room on supported headsets.
That MR portal is the detail that matters for XR coverage. Rhythm maps leave. Branded spatial environments with passthrough handoffs are rarer, and this one had a hard calendar date attached from day one of the sunset notice.
The September 30 cutoff
UploadVR’s note is a status check, not a refund window announcement. The practical read for players who never bought it: the environment is available through the end of the month across Quest, Steam, PS VR2, and Vision Pro.
