Solo developer Jonas Sandstedt says his VR factory-automation game Loop One: Done will LAUNCH in Steam EARLY ACCESS on Monday, October 5 at 17:00 CET, ending a FIVE-year build that BEGAN as a MIXED REALITY title on Quest. The CATCH for anyone checking the store: as of Sunday evening, the Steam listing still shows ONLY “2026” as the release date and NO price.

The date comes from a Steam announcement posted October 3 by Ojsan Studio AB, Sandstedt’s ONE-person company. “After 5 years of hard work, I’m so happy to finally share Loop One: Done with all of you VR lovers on Steam,” he wrote, adding that he will host a launch LIVESTREAM at 17:01 CET “if nothing catastrophic happens when I press the release button.” Sweden stays on summer time until October 25, so 5 p.m. Swedish local time works out to 11 a.m. ET; the Steam event card shows the time in each viewer’s own zone.
What ships on PC VR
The premise is UNUSUAL for the genre. Instead of laying down conveyor belts from a top-down map, players RECORD loops with their OWN HANDS, using DRONES and industrial ROBOTS that then REPEAT those motions to keep a factory running. According to the store page, the Early Access build includes a 3-hour-plus CAMPAIGN, Freeplay and Sandbox modes, weekly CHALLENGES, more than 50 facilities and 30 materials, three recordable items, multiple save slots, and an in-game LEVEL EDITOR with leaderboards. The late-game GOAL is a SERVER TOWER with cleanroom factories on every floor.

Steam tags the game VR ONLY. The listing says it runs through OpenXR with motion controllers and was TESTED on Valve Index, Meta Quest with Touch controllers, HP Reverb G2 (through the Oasis driver), and HTC Vive, where Sandstedt warns the wands “are a bit sensitive currently.” It also says, plainly, that the game is “NOT yet tested on Steam Frame,” which MATTERS given how much of this fall’s PC VR attention has moved to Valve’s new headset. Minimum specs list 16 GB of RAM and a 2060-class GPU (the page writes “GTX 2060”).
A Quest game first
Steam is the SECOND storefront, not the first. The game’s official site already links a LIVE Early Access build on the Meta Horizon Store, and Sandstedt’s second devlog says that mixed reality version first went live on May 2, 2025, after a planned April showcase launch slipped by a month. The game’s FAQ, last updated in November 2025, described the Quest release as MR-only and tested on Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest Pro and Quest 3S, with a VR mode and more headsets PLANNED. The Steam build is that VR FOLLOW-THROUGH. A third devlog records that Sandstedt QUIT an 11-year agency job on September 2, 2025 to work on the game full-time.
PC players have had a PREVIEW since June, when a Steam Next Fest DEMO arrived. That demo has NO time limit but unlocks only the first material, IRON; the full game adds plastic, gold, copper, silicon and water.
Why the missing store date matters
Loop One: Done is a CLEAN example of a BROADER Steam problem flagged on Sunday by MIXED. Its count found 118 coming-soon VR listings on the US store on October 3, but only 13 named an exact release day within the next month. Twenty-six said only “2026,” twenty said “Q4 2026,” and sixteen said “2027.” MIXED singled out Loop One: Done as the ONE launch whose time existed only in a developer post, not in the store’s DATE FIELD.

Why it matters
Small VR studios live or die on WISHLISTS, and Steam sends release NOTIFICATIONS based on what the store SAYS, not what a news post says. A launch that is invisible in the date field is easy to MISS. Loop One: Done is also a USEFUL test of whether a hand-driven MR design built for Quest can TRANSLATE to seated or room-scale PC VR, and the open question of Steam Frame support will be WORTH watching after Monday’s release. The Early Access PRICE has not been posted on Steam.
