Xreal 1 Pro+ Launches at $599 With 1,200-Nit Displays and 60fps 3D, but Keeps the One Pro’s Chip, Optics and 57-Degree View

Xreal has put a NEW FLAGSHIP on sale, and the most notable thing about it is how much it KEEPS the same. The Xreal 1 Pro+, launched Thursday, October 15, at $599 on the company’s US store, is a REFRESH of the One Pro display glasses rather than a NEW GENERATION. The headline changes are a BRIGHTER panel, SMOOTHER 2D-to-3D conversion and a REDESIGNED nose pad. The OPTICS, the CHIP and the field of view are CARRIED OVER.

What actually changed

Xreal’s product page lists 1,200 nits of PEAK brightness, up from 700 on the One Pro, according to Road to VR’s side-by-side comparison. Talk Android describes the figure as PERCEIVED brightness, the same way Chinese outlet CNMO describes the One Pro’s 700 nits. In other words, this is Xreal’s OWN measurement through its optics, and nobody has INDEPENDENTLY tested it yet.

The other changes are in SOFTWARE and FIT. “AI HDR” processing and THREE presets (Standard, Movie and Reading) are NEW. Xreal’s on-glasses 2D-to-3D conversion now runs at 60fps, DOUBLE the previous 30fps cap, and still needs NO companion app. The nose pad has been REWORKED: Talk Android says it now suits HIGHER nose bridges. 9to5Google’s Ben Schoon, who has used the One Pro, wrote that the larger air-cushion design is “a major improvement in regards to wearability.”

What stayed the same

The core hardware is UNCHANGED. The glasses still use the X1 spatial chip for native 3DoF and a CLAIMED 3ms motion-to-photon latency. They KEEP Sony 0.55-inch micro-OLED panels at 1,920 x 1,080 per eye, up to 120Hz, a 57-degree field of view, electrochromic DIMMING and BOSE-tuned speakers. 6DoF anchoring and gestures still REQUIRE the SEPARATE Xreal Eye camera. The 1 Pro+ is also still TETHERED: Road to VR notes that it connects over USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode, even though Xreal’s marketing shots show no cable. Xreal’s product page gives NO WEIGHT figure.

Two $599 flagships on one store

Xreal’s US store lists the 1 Pro+ in TWO sizes, M (IPD 57–66mm) and L (66–75mm), BOTH at $599. A BUNDLE with Xreal Eye costs $648, and 1 Pro+ prescription lenses cost $59.90. A Metaverse Watcher check of the store on Thursday morning found that the ORIGINAL One Pro is STILL listed, also at $599, against a $649 reference price. That fits Android Authority’s note that the new model matches the One Pro’s price after an EARLIER CUT. For as long as both listings stay up, buyers can choose between two flagships at the SAME price, and the ONLY differences are BRIGHTNESS, 3D frame rate and FIT.

The new model is priced BELOW the $849 ROG Xreal R1 and far below the $1,279 Android XR-based Aura, which takes PREORDERS now and is due later this year. The 1 Pro+ is the PRACTICAL buy in Xreal’s lineup today: a MONITOR-style display for phones, laptops, handhelds and consoles, NOT a STANDALONE computer.

Launch details and open questions

According to Talk Android, AMAZON availability follows LATER in October, Best Buy timing is UNCONFIRMED, and UK and EU pricing has not been announced. In CHINA, Xreal said on October 15 that it will FORMALLY unveil the 1 Pro+ on October 20, calling it its “strongest flagship AR glasses to date” (our translation), VR Tuoluo reported. CNMO notes that the One Pro launched there in July 2025 at 4,299 yuan. Chinese pricing for the 1 Pro+ has NOT been disclosed.

One detail is WORTH noting before buying. The customer quotes in the “In Their Words” section of Xreal’s 1 Pro+ page include several that NAME the One Pro, which SUGGESTS they were written about the OLDER model. That is consistent with the 1 Pro+ being an ITERATION. It also means there is NO owner FEEDBACK on the new model yet. Until reviewers MEASURE the 1,200-nit claim in daylight and test the nose pad over LONG sessions, the case for the 1 Pro+ rests on Xreal’s SPEC SHEET and a handful of EARLY impressions.
