Apple and MLB are streaming select Friday Night Baseball games live in Apple Immersive on Vision Pro — 8K, 180-degree 3D, a dedicated booth, and floating lineups. Two games are done. Two remain: Padres at Giants on September 11, Giants at Dodgers on September 18.
Apple’s Newsroom and MLB locked the Immersive slate in August. The pitch is not a TV feed stretched onto a virtual screen. It is a separate Vision Pro production: 3D video captured in 8K with a 180-degree field of view, Spatial Audio from ambisonic mics, and an Immersive graphics package that puts lineups and stats in your space. Road to VR and 9to5Mac matched the same schedule and region list when the announcement landed.

The Immersive slate
Four Friday Night Baseball games carry the Apple Immersive badge this season:
- August 28, 7:00 p.m. ET — Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees (aired)
- September 4, 6:30 p.m. ET — Los Angeles Angels at Pittsburgh Pirates (aired)
- September 11, 10:00 p.m. ET — San Diego Padres at San Francisco Giants
- September 18, 10:00 p.m. ET — San Francisco Giants at Los Angeles Dodgers
Apple’s Immersive booth is distinct from the flat Apple TV doubleheader. Play-by-play is Paul Severino, analysis is Xavier Scruggs, sideline is Michelle Margaux. During breaks, the Immersive feed stays live inside the stadium instead of cutting to a commercial island. Full game replays and a highlight package land on demand in the Apple TV app for Vision Pro after each broadcast.

What the first live game felt like
Spatial Insider sat through the Red Sox–Yankees opener and described a production that moves you around Yankee Stadium before first pitch — dugout, outfield, high seats — then slows the cuts once the game starts so each at-bat has time to settle. A virtual Jumbotron carries the familiar 2D broadcast and close-ups above the field while the Immersive camera keeps you at park scale. That split is the product thesis: ballpark presence plus living-room information density.
The same write-up notes the practical gate: Immersive MLB runs on Vision Pro (M2) and Vision Pro (M5) with an active Apple TV subscription. Apple lists live Immersive availability in Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, the UK, and the U.S. Flat Friday Night Baseball on Apple TV still covers the wider 60-country Apple TV footprint at $12.99 a month in the U.S. after a seven-day trial for new subscribers.
Why it matters for spatial computing
Vision Pro’s sports story has been built one live experiment at a time — Lakers Immersive games earlier in 2026, now a four-game MLB sample into mid-September. This is not a headset-selling price cut. It is Apple using the only hardware it ships that can hold an 8K Immersive live feed and asking whether that is enough reason to keep the headset on for three hours. The next stress tests are already on the calendar: Padres–Giants on the 11th, Giants–Dodgers on the 18th. Both tip at 10:00 p.m. ET.
