Even Realities pushed VERSION 2.3.2 of its companion app on October 2, and the update comes with a condition most owners will ONLY notice AFTER tapping install. The App Store release notes say the build “requires updating the App and the firmware on both Even G2 and Even R1 to the latest versions.” For anyone who wears the G2 GLASSES with the R1 RING, that means THREE updates, not ONE.

What 2.3.2 actually adds
Apple’s listing timestamps the release at 08:14 UTC on October 2, with a download of ROUGHLY 514 MB and a minimum of iOS 16.0. The notes list SIX changes:
- Customizable LONG-PRESS shortcuts for both the Even G2 and the Even R1.
- A redesigned Even Hub DISCOVERY page meant to surface more plug-ins.
- QUICKNOTE, which creates and views notes directly on the G2.
- QuickList is RENAMED to Reminders.
- Updated MAP service providers “in certain regions” for the Navigate feature.
- Better background CONNECTION stability on “certain phone models.”
The TWO headline features, QuickNote and the new shortcuts, are the ones GATED behind the FIRMWARE. Updating the phone app ALONE will NOT deliver them. Even Realities does NOT publish firmware VERSION numbers for the glasses or the ring next to the app release, so owners cannot EASILY confirm which build they need before they start.
The gaps in the notes
As Mixed News pointed out in its October 3 write-up, the notes do NOT say what the long-press shortcuts can be bound to, which is the MOST practical question about the feature. The Navigate change names NO regions and NO providers. The connection fix names NO phones. The Reminders rename is small but real: a feature many owners rely on now answers to a DIFFERENT name.
The RING matters here too. The R1 sells SEPARATELY at $249, and Even Realities’ product page says it “currently supports interaction only with Even G2.” The two devices now move on the SAME update track, so a ring owner who skips ONE firmware step is likely to find the new shortcuts MISSING.

Pricing and the G1
According to Mixed News, which read the US store on October 2, the G2 A and G2 B start at $599 without prescription lenses, single-vision lenses add from $159, the G2 case is $149, and the R1 charger is $49. At the same read, BOTH Even G1 models showed a SOLD OUT badge. Even Realities has NOT said the G1 is discontinued, and the G1 companion app last updated in June, so an EMPTY listing is all that can be read into it for now.
Why it matters
Even Realities is NOT a marginal player. Omdia ranked it SECOND behind Meta in AI glasses shipments for the first half of 2026. Display glasses WITHOUT cameras are a distinct bet from Meta’s CAMERA-FIRST approach, and that bet depends on SOFTWARE that keeps IMPROVING. Version 2.3.2 shows the UPSIDE and the COST: MORE on-glasses features, delivered through a MULTI-DEVICE update chain with very LITTLE documentation.
The practical advice is SIMPLE. Update the FIRMWARE on the glasses and the ring first, then the APP, and expect to find out what the new shortcuts do by TRYING them.
