Gorilla Tag Blocks ADB Long-Arm Cheats and Opens 20-Player Rooms

Another Axiom has BLOCKED the developer-mode CHEAT that stretched Gorilla Tag arms and enabled FLIGHT. In a Steam announcement posted October 2, 2026 (17:01 UTC) titled “Halloween Arrives!”, the studio writes that “Using ADB commands to give yourself longarms on Standalone or Fly have been BLOCKED.” The same PATCH also raises Destinations rooms to 20 PLAYERS and returns seasonal Ghost Tag.

ADB is the Android Debug Bridge — the PC tool that talks to a Quest left in developer MODE. Another Axiom frames the change as an ANTI-CHEAT FIX and gives almost no further DETAIL: no build number, no word on whether the block is enforced on the headset or on the SERVER, and nothing about what happens if a player still TRIES it. Mixed News notes that this is the studio’s only public ACCOUNT of the exploit.

Competitive visibility and larger Destinations lobbies

A second anti-cheat LINE is aimed at tournament ORGANIZERS. “Comp can now VIEW if certain ADB settings are used to alter default PLAY,” the update says, so competitive communities can DEFINE their own standards for scrums and RANKING systems. Which settings those are is not STATED.

The map hub formerly called VStump is now DESTINATIONS, with a new LOOK, open East and West tunnels, a rebuilt front page, and a Browse Room reachable from the Mall. Rooms there now HOLD 20 PLAYERS. Ghost Tag is BACK for the season, maps are decorated for HALLOWEEN, and a cosmetic drop called the Bare Bones Street SALE is live.

Performance note and pricing

On the QUALITY-of-life side, more older cosmetics work with first-person VIEW — including the Golden Head and Paperbag Hat — and VIM room CONTROLS now behave correctly in 10-player rooms, including modes such as SuperInfection. Another Axiom also says it CHANGED “a key game system” it hopes will address LAG and players becoming stuck on ice when someone JOINS. The studio does not name the system or CLAIM the problem is FIXED.

Gorilla Tag remains FREE on Quest, where it passed a million daily PLAYERS in 2024. The Steam build, sold since January 1, 2023, was $19.99 with no discount when Mixed News read Valve’s store data on October 2 — even while the Steam Autumn SALE runs through October 8. Another Axiom also ships Orion Drift and has kept Gorilla Tag on a roughly fortnightly UPDATE rhythm through the year.
