Meta has COMMISSIONED its first big horror franchise for VR. I Let You In, a SIX-episode immersive series set in the Talk to Me universe, will premiere in SPRING 2027 EXCLUSIVELY on Meta Quest headsets and the upcoming Meta VR Glasses, according to Variety’s first-look report on October 8, 2026.
The timing is NOT subtle. Meta says its VR Glasses go on sale in spring 2027 at $1,299.99, and this series is scheduled for the SAME window. Particle’s summary describes the project as exclusive narrative content meant to DRAW buyers to new hardware. That reading fits Meta’s own Connect pitch, which sold the glasses first as a personal CINEMA.
What Is Confirmed
- Format: SIX episodes, designed specifically for Quest and VR Glasses (Variety).
- Producer: XRTV, the new immersive studio from Darren Brandl and Jack Davis; Meta COMMISSIONED it, with Jeff Rich producing for Meta (Variety, Bloody Disgusting).
- Creative: all six episodes DIRECTED by Craig William Macneill and WRITTEN by Trent Atherton (Particle).
- Status: filming WRAPPED in Spain earlier this year; the series is now in POST-production.
- Setting: the story moves from Australia to “the ultimate party in IBIZA” (The Verge).
- Executive producers include Talk to Me directors Danny and Michael Philippou and Causeway Films.
What Is Missing
There is NO exact release date, NO price, and NO word on whether episodes will be free or sold through the Horizon Store. None of the reports names a resolution or capture format beyond “immersive 3D.” The series was first announced in October 2025, so it has taken a YEAR to reach a title and a poster.
The EXCLUSIVITY also cuts both ways. Horror fans who own Vision Pro, PS VR2, or Steam Frame are locked out, and early reaction on X summarized fan FRUSTRATION over the limited access.
Why It Matters
Meta has already pushed into premium video with its first original immersive series, Open Season, and Disney’s ILM cinema app for VR Glasses. A recognizable A24-distributed horror brand is a STRONGER hook than either. The real test is whether Meta ships enough of this kind of CONTENT to justify a $1,300 media device, or whether I Let You In stays a one-off launch title.
