Enterprise spatial computing keeps finding quieter jobs than consumer demos. Pfizer, working with Dallas studio Groove Jones, has shipped an Apple Vision Pro mixed-reality experience meant to explain oncology research to patients, clinicians, and internal stakeholders — not to put a headset in the operating room.

The studio frames the brief as communicating Pfizer’s oncology story through spatial computing rather than another flat video. What the experience actually does
The session opens with narrative sequences built around patient, family, and scientist stories. Groove Jones says its proprietary GrooveTech pipeline generates ultra-high-resolution stereoscopic imagery with custom depth maps, preserving identities while still reading as photoreal. Scientists appear as life-sized figures inside a reconstructed lab; AppleInsider notes those avatars can look stationary in the studio’s own videos even when the pitch promises interaction.
Gesture navigation on Vision Pro lets wearers inspect lab equipment and related explainers before reaching the centerpiece: the ADC Builder. An Antibody-Drug Conjugate, per Groove Jones’s explanation, has three parts — antibody, linker, and payload — designed to target cancer cells while limiting damage to healthy tissue. Users assemble a model in steps (antibody selection, linker, payload), then watch a bloodstream sequence where they deploy ADCs against cancer cells. The studio is explicit that real ADC medicines take 10 to 15 years of research, testing, and trials; the builder is a teaching prop, not a discovery tool.

How it was built
Groove Jones lists a stack tailored to visionOS 2: an XR Avatar Scanner rig of 50 iPhone 15 Pros plus Apple Object Capture for photoreal scientist avatars; a RealityKit transform-entity system managing 44-plus unique lab objects and more than 1,000 transform entities; and custom spatial audio (voice-over, sound design, original score). Those details come from the studio’s case page, not from an independent tech audit — treat them as developer claims, but they are specific enough to be useful.
Where this sits next to real clinical Vision Pro work
This is a different lane from Stryker’s FDA De Novo–authorized SportSuite Vision hip arthroscopy case. Pfizer’s project is education and brand storytelling for a consumer headset. It does not claim regulatory clearance, intraoperative use, or clinical endpoints. AppleInsider’s sharper read — that the finished piece can feel like a polished infomercial — is fair. Spatial audio and 3D assembly do not automatically outperform a clear caption deck; they do give Pfizer a Vision Pro-native artifact for events, stakeholder briefings, and recruitment.
Groove Jones says the experience is “just the beginning” of Pfizer’s mixed-reality exploration, pointing to possible training, education, and research uses later. No public App Store listing, pricing, or general consumer availability was attached to the case materials reviewed for this piece.
