Mixed News maps six VR titles with OCTOBER dates across Quest, PS VR2, and Steam. The CALENDAR runs from October 2 through October 29 — and one Sony store listing still refuses to MATCH its own developer.
The Bad Inmate Gap
HyperVR Games (Riga) LOCKED its prison sandbox BAD INMATE to OCTOBER 15 for Meta Quest and PlayStation VR2 in an August 31 announcement. Sony’s own store page still reads “Release date to be determined,” even while listing PS5, PS VR2 Sense controllers, vibration, and a 2m × 2m play area. A SteamVR build is planned with NO date. The studio’s date is the one with an announcement behind it; the store GAP is the HOOK for this roundup, not a rewrite of the title’s earlier coverage.
October 8: Two Platforms, Two Titles
INTO THE RADIUS 2 reaches PS VR2 on OCTOBER 8 on Sony’s DATED store page. The PlayStation Blog had pointed at September 24; that slip is already covered on this site, so this calendar only notes the new date plus the promised native 90fps, eye-tracked foveated rendering, headset and controller haptics, adaptive triggers, and two-player co-op as a free Q4 update. The PC version has been out since April 23.
The same day, OSM Games brings SHIL to Quest for $14.99 in the US (€13.99 / £11.99). Mixed News cites the studio’s September 24 press note for the date and pricing; the team calls it its first VR game, with puzzles “where logic and perspective are skewed.” A Steam build is wishlistable with no date.
October 15 Is the Busiest Day
Besides Bad Inmate, Quest gets DISEMBODIED on OCTOBER 15 at 10:00 PDT. UploadVR describes a mixed-reality hand-tracking PLATFORMER from Kevin Walker — platforming, stealth, and puzzles, plus a level editor. Meta Horizon Store tags it Platformer / Puzzle / Action, rated 3+, with no price shown yet.
The same day, spy sim SPYMASTER leaves Early Access with three new missions (covered separately on this site). Earlier in the month, on OCTOBER 2, VMX brings BMX and scooters to Quest.
Late Month: Terraforming and Dark Trip
TERRY’S TERRAFORMING arrives on Quest on OCTOBER 22 at 10:00 PDT for $9.99, with pre-orders OPEN at that price. Store genre tags: Narrative / Puzzle / World creation; rating 3+.
DARK TRIP closes the month on OCTOBER 29. Developer iWorlds tags the Steam page VR Supported rather than VR-only: “play flat or in VR” via SteamVR or Meta Horizon Link. Mixed News frames it as a gothic horror escape room that uses biomachinery, strange art, and hallucinations to unpack an eerie crime.
What the Calendar Actually Says
That is SIX dated releases across Quest, PS VR2, and SteamVR inside four weeks. The one GAP left is on Sony’s own store, which still has NO date for a game HyperVR has been dating since August. Until that listing flips, the October slate is LOCKED in press and Meta pages — and still INCOMPLETE on PlayStation.
