Triangle Factory Goes Co-Op. Breachers: Outbreak Is a Zombie Extraction Shooter.

Triangle Factory is pivoting from competitive PvP to four-player co-op. Breachers: Outbreak is a zombie extraction shooter with VR and flatscreen cross-play, wishlisted now for a later-2026 window.

UploadVR and Road to VR covered the reveal at the Summer 2026 VR Games Showcase: Breachers: Outbreak is Triangle Factory’s first cooperative survival title after Hyper Dash, Breachers, and Forefront. The studio’s statement, quoted by both outlets, is blunt about the shift — tension and camaraderie instead of competing against each other.

The Cleaners and Patient X

Per Road to VR’s readout of the pitch, players join The Cleaners, an ESTF special division dropped into infected quarantine zones. The job is not civilian rescue. It is hunting Patient X, a mutated carrier whose bone marrow may hold a cure. The core mode, Bone Marrow Extraction, mixes infiltration, objectives, and last-stand extraction, with randomized maps, dynamic zombie spawning, perk builds, and weapon mods. The Steam page frames the lore around Photonix, an ESTF-linked biotech experiment that escaped containment.

Why flatscreen matters here

Outbreak is also Triangle Factory’s first title with flatscreen support and full cross-play between VR and non-VR friends. UploadVR notes the practical reason: multiplayer shooters need stable player counts, and several VR studios have been widening the funnel the same way. Platforms listed across the reveal coverage are Meta Quest, Pico, SteamVR, and Steam flatscreen. Steam’s own listing confirms English, co-op, and a later “Coming soon” window — no day yet, only “later in 2026” from the trailer and press.

Wishlist is live on Steam and Quest. For a studio that made its name on 5v5 and 32-player PvP, Outbreak is the clearest product-level bet yet that co-op extraction — and hybrid lobbies — are where the next seat count lives.
