Pedal Rebel VR Locks October 5. Any Exercise Bike Becomes the Controller.

ToasterFace Games’ cyberpunk street racer turns any exercise bike into the controller. Early Access locks October 5 on Meta Quest and SteamVR.

UploadVR confirmed the date at the Summer 2026 VR Games Showcase: Pedal Rebel VR opens Early Access on October 5, 2026 for Meta Quest and SteamVR. IGN carried the same trailer and window. The pitch is blunt and physical — strap your controllers to your legs, sit on a stationary bike, and let cadence plus lean do the driving.

Bike as controller

UploadVR’s readout of the showcase build is as low-tech as VR fitness gets. Controllers attach to the rider’s legs the way Dance Dash does. Steering is a lean left or right; handling tightens as speed climbs. Dodging traffic fills an overcharge meter for higher speeds and score multipliers aimed at global leaderboards. Points unlock bikes, songs, levels, achievements, and challenges. The Steam listing frames the same loop: pedal, lean, dodge, and ride the dynamic soundtrack that ramps with your pace.

Who’s shipping it

Developer ToasterFace Games and publisher Kovarch PTY LTD are on the Steam page. The studio site at pedalrebelvr.com still points players at Discord for alpha builds and notes a demo “coming soon.” Steam itself still says “Coming soon” rather than printing October 5, so treat the dated window as Showcase-confirmed rather than a live Steam countdown. Quest owners can wishlist Pedal Rebel on the Meta Store ahead of the same Early Access day.

Four weeks out, Pedal Rebel sits in a thin slice of VR: fitness hardware without a proprietary bike, cyberpunk racing without a flat-screen twin. If the October 5 build sticks the lean-and-pedal feel that UploadVR described in June, it will be one of the clearer “use your living-room bike” launches of the fall — and a useful test of whether cadence-as-input can hold a SteamVR and Quest audience past the novelty week.
