I Am Your Beast VR is two days from SteamVR Early Access, and the first long-form hands-on is in. UploadVR’s Mike Johnson calls Flat2VR Spark and Strange Scaffold’s revenge thriller a gleefully entertaining speedrun FPS that plays more like a strong VR mod than a native physics sandbox — unscored for now, with a final grade due after launch.

Metaverse Watcher already logged the September 17 SteamVR lock and Flat2VR Spark pairing. What matters now is how the port feels once the clock starts. UploadVR lists the build at $22.99, credited to Flat2VR Spark and Strange Scaffold, published by Impact Inked, on Steam app 3844740.
What UploadVR found
You still play Alphonse Harding, a retired Covert Operations Initiative agent who refuses another “one last job” and turns the forest into a series of timed micro-sandboxes. Johnson counts more than twenty objective-focused missions — clear the enemies, smash satellites, reach the exit — each graded D through S on time, with bonuses for headshots and optional objectives. Later scenarios gate on earlier ranks, so a short campaign stretches if you chase cleaner clears.
Combat is built for momentum. There is no reload loop: empty a gun, throw it at someone, grab whatever drops, keep moving. Climbing skips grab points for stick input; health packs and laptops trigger on a grab when your hand brushes them. Johnson frames that as intentional — physics jank would punish the timer — and notes it may turn away players who want heavy tactile VR. Snap turn is available; teleport is not. The piece was tested on a Quest 3 through Virtual Desktop on the Godlike preset.

Where it sits
This is Spark’s second drop after FlatOut 4: Total Insanity VR. The flat original launched in September 2024 with an Overwhelmingly Positive Steam rating from roughly 4.5K reviews, per UploadVR’s earlier coverage. Johnson likes the cel-shaded look and pulse-pounding score, flags bunker interludes as a faithful-but-flat carryover, and says he would recommend it to action-junkie VR players who want short, roguelike-style loops — while acknowledging the missing native VR flourishes.
Steam’s public storefront still shows Coming Soon with a September 2026 window; treat UploadVR’s September 17 date and $22.99 price as the dated report until the buy box flips. The review remains unscored under UploadVR’s Early Access / review-in-progress rules.
