Ace Attorney Dual Destinies Lands in VR for Quest and Meta VR Glasses

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies is coming to VR. Tokyo studio AMATA K.K. revealed the project on SEPTEMBER 24 under an OFFICIAL Capcom license, targeting Meta QUEST headsets and Meta VR Glasses in 2027. It is the series’ FIRST courtroom battle built for a headset, not a flat screen.

The 2013 Nintendo 3DS entry is being rebuilt for the META HORIZON STORE. Players take the roles of Phoenix Wright, Apollo Justice, and Athena Cykes across episodic cases. AMATA lists MORE THAN 15 hours of playtime, seven languages, and an IARC 12+ rating. Price is STILL to be announced.

OBJECTION in Your Own Voice

The pitch is PHYSICAL. Controllers work, but AMATA is selling HAND TRACKING and VOICE activation as the immersive path: point at a witness, present evidence with your hands, and shout “OBJECTION!” out loud to stop the court. That aligns with Meta’s Connect push for hand-first apps ahead of Meta VR Glasses, which prefer eye and hand input over bundled controllers.

Investigation scenes move into EXAMINABLE 3D crime spaces. You walk the room, inspect evidence from new angles, and hunt contradictions the same way the 2D games did — only now the desk, the witness stand, and the wrecked courtroom sit around you.

Where It Runs

Supported HMDs on the fact sheet: Meta VR Glasses, Quest 3 / 3S, Quest Pro, and Quest 2. Distribution is the META Horizon Store. Engadget’s Connect wrap (Kris Holt, Sep 23) flagged the title in Meta’s games slate; AMATA’s Games Press release and teaser site filled in the LICENSE, trailer, and 2027 window the next day.

A Meta Store listing is LIVE under Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies VR, describing narrative adventure and puzzle play with voice-driven objections. A YouTube announcement trailer and bilingual press kit (English / Japanese) are public for media use under AMATA’s stated guidelines — assets used here are from that kit without alteration.

Why It Matters for Meta’s Glasses Year

Dual Destinies is NOT a new mainline Ace Attorney. It is a HIGH-PROFILE catalog remake that gives Quest and the forthcoming glasses a recognizable IP with clear hand-and-voice verbs. Capcom stays the rights holder; AMATA develops and publishes under license. If the VR adaption sticks the landing, Meta gets another story-heavy demo of what glasses-first input is for — besides Beat Saber Flux and the rest of the Connect game reel.

Release remains “coming in 2027.” No exact QUARTER, no PRICE, and no confirmation of Touch Plus requirements beyond full controller support as an option. WISHLISTING is OPEN on AMATA’s teaser site and the Meta Store page.
