Google Beam Ships to Six Countries as Industrious Opens Bookable Rooms

Google Beam — the light-field video system formerly known as Project Starline — is NOW SHIPPING to customers in SIX COUNTRIES: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Japan. According to Mixed-News coverage dated October 1, 2026, Google also says organizations can BOOK a Beam-equipped room at select Industrious coworking locations starting in October, rather than buying the hardware outright.

The commercial product is sold as HP Dimension with Google Beam, with HP named as Google’s FLAGSHIP hardware partner. Google’s September 23 expansion post lists EIGHTEEN channel partners ready to deploy and support the system, and stresses that Beam works with BOTH Google Meet and Zoom — the INTEGRATION that decides whether it fits existing enterprise call stacks.

Shipping List vs. Walk-In Access

Mixed-News draws a SHARP line between the two paths. The six-country list is where UNITS are shipping to PAYING customers. It is NOT a public walk-in network. That is the Industrious tie-up: Google calls it the “first-ever Beam extended network,” aimed at startups and businesses that will NOT buy a system outright.

Starting in October, Google says customers can BOOK and experience HP Dimension with Google Beam at select Industrious locations across the U.S., INCLUDING Atlanta, Chicago, New York City, and Palo Alto. Google gives NO exact date within October, no room count, and no PUBLIC price for the hardware. The city list is prefaced with “including,” so more sites may follow.

The Only Numbers Come From Google Itself

Google cites an EIGHT-WEEK INTERNAL study of its own teams. Teams using Beam “felt 50% more CONNECTED to one another, found it 33% EASIER to ensure their feedback was clearly understood, and saw a 21% DROP in the need for follow-up meetings.” Mixed-News notes the IMPORTANT caveat: all three figures come from Google studying Googlers — no SAMPLE size and no methodology are published, and NOBODY outside Google has run the same test.

On the customer side, Google names Netflix and Capital Group among early adopters, and says it partnered with Bain & Company earlier this year to TEST Beam for campus recruiting and candidate interviews. An Industrious PILOT earlier this year covered manager check-ins, interviews, and client consultations.

From Research Booth to Six-Country Ship

The system began as Project Starline, the research booth Google SHRANK to roughly the size of a smart TV before renaming it Beam with a 2025 launch window. Sixteen months on from that promise, the SHIPPING list runs to six countries and the public can book one in FOUR U.S. cities — a quieter spatial-computing story than glasses and headsets, but one that puts 3D PRESENCE on a desk, not on your face.
