Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, and most of the VR industry’s seasonal content is already live. The catch is that much of it is TIME-LIMITED: several events close in the first two weeks of November, and one starts TOMORROW. Below is a dated rundown of the Halloween updates and events running on Meta Quest, Steam and PS VR2 as of October 25, 2026, ordered by when they end, with prices where the developers have set them.

Ending first: Phasmophobia and VRChat
Phasmophobia is the biggest name on the list and the one with the tightest clock. Kinetic Games’ Crimson Eye event, back for a third year, runs from October 8 to NOVEMBER 1. It adds a blood-moon sky, cult markings and candlelight to investigations, and makes ghosts faster and more aggressive in exchange for bonus cash and XP. The double-XP window closed on October 22, but a final phase starts tomorrow: from October 26 to November 1, the game hosts Ghost Hunts 4 Hearts, a crossover with the American Heart Association that comes with special participant rewards. VR players are included, as we noted when Kinetic dated the Crimson Eye event.
VRChat‘s tenth Spookality jam is in its showcase phase. The 12 winning worlds and 12 winning avatars are featured from October 16 through November 2, and every entry had to run on PC, Android and iOS, which makes this the MOST broadly playable Halloween content on the list. Running into November: Breachers and Medieval Dynasty
Triangle Factory’s 5v5 shooter Breachers has a limited-time Infected mode until NOVEMBER 9. Enforcers hunt the infected team, which can fight back or choke opponents out with toxic gas grenades. The fan-favorite Hideout map gets a night setting with pumpkins, coffins and cauldrons. Triangle Factory also released the game’s first character skin DLC, the Quarantine hazmat suit, for $9.99. That is the ONLY paid cosmetic in this roundup.
Medieval Dynasty: New Settlement started its annual Halloween event on October 14 and runs it until NOVEMBER 14, the longest window here. Players who head to the swamps find a grave that starts a hunt for the gravesites of the Spectral Games team. Finding all of them unlocks a skull-themed xylophone and a new music track. The event also reskins the main menu and several settlements and swaps birds for bats. Spectral has teased more surprises before it ends.
Free updates that stay
Real VR Fishing‘s FREE Halloween update adds five maps: three new locations and two returning favorites. Each map has a new fish species, and older event catches such as the Zombie Shark and Haunted Goblin Shark return alongside last year’s Halloween fish and all 12 fish from the sixth-anniversary event. The same update brought mixed reality fishing modes and hand tracking, which we covered in our Real VR Fishing Halloween update report.
Synth Riders added Apashe’s “Lord & Master” for free on Quest, PS VR2 and Steam, with limited-time bat and neon changes to the Spin City stages (our Synth Riders story). Virtual Skate added a scavenger hunt: find all six pumpkins in the SoCal Night map to unlock a “hellish” section.
Paid packs worth knowing about
- Beat Saber: Ray Parker Jr.’s “Ghostbusters” arrived as a $1.99 Shock Drop on Quest and PC VR (details).
- Puzzling Places: Monthly Pack #48 costs $5.99 on Quest and Steam and includes six puzzles. The headline Halloween Mansion and three others go up to 400 pieces; Finnish Farm and Povrly Blacksmith go up to 1,000.
- Table Troopers: the $4.99 Halloween Pack adds three maps, two trooper types and four weapons to the mixed reality strategy game. Only one player in a group needs to own it for everyone to play the new maps.
If you want something new rather than a seasonal skin
Two newer releases fit the season without being event content. Liminal Fear Arena on Quest is built around short, deliberately mild scares. And for full-length horror, UploadVR’s ten spooky-season picks remain a solid starting list, though only one of them is from 2026.
What it means
The pattern this year is clear: the larger live-service VR games (Phasmophobia, Breachers, VRChat) are using LIMITED-TIME MODES to pull lapsed players back, while smaller studios sell low-cost PERMANENT packs between $1.99 and $5.99. For players, the practical takeaway is to prioritize the events with HARD DEADLINES, starting with Phasmophobia on November 1, before spending on content that will still be there in December.
