Contractors Showdown Season 6 Wipes Progression — PvE Gets Opt-In Rebirth Tokens

Caveman Studio’s SEASON 6 wipe for Contractors Showdown: ExfilZone is no longer a rumor on the patch notes — it LANDED on SEPTEMBER 23, and Mixed News’s September 30 report walks through what that means for competitive stashers and for PvE players who still carry a LOADED inventory. The short version: PvP progression took a full RESET. PvE did NOT take a hard wipe. Instead, accounts above LEVEL 20 can OPT into REBIRTH and turn stash VALUE into spendable TOKENS.

That split MATTERS. Extraction shooters live on the tension between a clean SLATE and the gear you EARNED. Season 6 keeps a traditional wipe for competitive ladders while giving PvE operators a real CHOICE: keep the stash, or cash it into Rebirth Tokens at a published rate of TEN THOUSAND in asset value per token, up to a MAXIMUM of ten thousand tokens. That is a deliberate OFF-RAMP, not another forced empty POCKET.

How Rebirth Works

Rebirth is OPT-IN. Caveman Studio’s Season 6 notes, as summarized by Mixed News and the community wiki, say a PvE player above level 20 chooses to RUN it. The action CLEARS all PvE account data, including the stash. DLC rewards can be claimed again afterwards. Tokens land in a PvE REBIRTH SHOP stocked with top-tier ammunition, armor, weapons, and backpacks, plus exclusive items such as double-capacity magazines, faster healing limb repair kits, and LEVEL 8 armour. SPEND what you converted; REBUILD what you sold.

Four New Weapons and a Harsher Armour Rule

Season 6 is not only a wipe CALENDAR. The patch ADDS four new weapons — the GP100 revolver, the ASH-12 assault rifle, the MX338, and the SESA2 — along with five new handguards and stocks. Enemy AI can carry the ASH-12 and the GP100, and the studio says they are less likely to actively SEARCH for players or to FIRE while moving at high speed — a QUIET but important behaviour tweak for extraction runs that used to feel relentlessly HUNTED.

Body armour rules also TIGHTENED. The penetration threshold moved from a one-tier difference to a 1.5-TIER difference, lower-tier rounds got a slightly higher chance to punch THROUGH, and high-tier body armour now loses more durability when it absorbs blunt DAMAGE. Buff injections take 1.5 SECONDS instead of five — a meaningful combat TEMPO change. Trader progression was reordered so you cannot climb by focusing on a single trader, and headquarters upgrades need fewer materials with prerequisites revised for more GRADUAL progression across the MAP.

Two Hotfixes in Five Days

Live seasons rarely ship CLEAN. Patch 1.7.0.1 on September 25 fixed incorrect item counts during expired-item returns and the headquarters reload loops that followed, missing inventory ledger entries after barter exchanges, and a bug that let an entire ASH-12 sit in a magazine pouch. It also added Scav and PMC task isolation logic. Patch 1.7.0.2 on September 28 closed an issue that let players interact with others’ safe containers, repaired several optics, and added missing gunsmith assembly support for the SESA2 and the MX338. The studio is still iterating in PUBLIC, and players should EXPECT more mid-season FIXES.

Where It Runs — and What to Decide

ExfilZone has been running seasons since 2024, when the extraction mode brought survival shooting to Caveman’s Contractors line. The game lists at about twenty dollars in the United States on Steam, where it launched on April 25, 2024, and runs through SteamVR and Oculus PC. Quest owners who stream or use link paths are the same audience that cares about wipe calendars — the headset is the DOOR; the stash is the DEBATE. Platform does not change the MATH of a wipe.

Anyone still sitting on a PvE stash now has a concrete DECISION: keep the loot for the long GRIND, or convert it into Rebirth Tokens for shop ACCESS to high-tier and exclusive gear. That is the Season 6 pitch in one line — a wipe that RESETS the competitive side while giving extraction veterans a paid-in-loot off-ramp instead of a forced empty inventory. Read the notes, weigh the stash, and CHOOSE before the next mid-season patch changes the BALANCE again.
