Detective VR lands on PlayStation VR2 and Steam VR on September 9, 2026. The narrative investigation game has been on Meta Quest since February 2025. Studio Chipo y Juan & Valem Studio and publisher VRKiwi locked the dual-platform date during the UploadVR Summer Showcase in June; the calendar is now a week out.
Per the Games Press announcement and UploadVR, players interview suspects, gather clues, and use time control to rewind, pause, and replay scenes. The pitch is Return of the Obra Dinn and Immortality filtered through a Minority Report-style evidence board, with mixed-reality passthrough on supported hardware so testimonies can play out in the room.
What ships on September 9
The commercial build is roughly five hours of story across one mystery, six motion-captured characters, and eleven sequences. Actors credited on the official site include Luke Mably, Angus Wright, Hannah Morrish, Dave Clark, Bryony Byrne, and Melanie Bright. Hand tracking is the preferred input on Quest and is listed as full support on PS VR2; controllers remain optional.
The PlayStation Store listing sets release at 9/9/2026 07:00 AM UTC, marks Sense controllers as optional, and repeats the same story length and time-control loop. Steam lists the same September 9 date for the PC VR build.
Why the port matters
Quest already proved the design. UploadVR’s Quest review called it “a delight to play,” and the developers told the site the goal was “no friction between the player and the story,” which is why mixed reality and hand tracking sit at the center rather than as a demo mode. Moving that loop to PS VR2 and Steam widens the audience that never bought a Quest without rewriting the mystery.
September’s VR calendar is crowded: Knights of Fiona and Transformers: Beyond Reality Redux hit Quest on September 3, Gunman Contracts Stand Alone follows on Steam on September 10, and Into the Radius 2 reaches PS VR2 on September 24. Detective VR slots between those as a quieter, story-first counterweight—one case, unreliable witnesses, and a timeline you can scrub.
Wishlist and store pages are live on PlayStation and Steam. Quest owners who already finished the case do not get a new story on September 9; they get a platform expansion for everyone else.
