September 3 is already booked for Knights of Fiona. It is also the day META4 Interactive and Illogika bring Transformers: Beyond Reality Redux to Meta Quest 2, Quest 3, and Quest 3S — the first time the licensed on-rails shooter leaves PlayStation VR.

UploadVR dated the Quest window to the June VR Games Showcase: publisher Squido Studio put September 3 on the calendar for a retro arcade rail shooter that previously shipped on PlayStation VR1 and later PS VR2. The studio pitch is straightforward — you play a human recruit fighting beside Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Grimlock across Earth and Cybertron, blasting Decepticons and Insecticons on a fixed path. Think Time Crisis with Transformers IP, not an open-world Autobot sim.
What “Redux” actually changes
The interesting part is not the date. It is the rebuild list. Screen Rant, citing a developer Q&A on the game’s Discord, reports a full retune of wave difficulty, two new enemies plus a new attack method, and an overhauled media upgrade system that stops players from farming one level to max every weapon. The developer’s line: if you played both versions, “you will notice some significant shifts.” That is a clearer delta than UploadVR’s earlier “new features” placeholder from June.
On PlayStation, the game lists at $24.99. Quest pricing was not confirmed in the June announcement; the Meta Store listing and the official META4 site are the places to watch when the buy button flips live tomorrow.
Why the date matters on Quest
Licensed VR ports usually land soft. This one lands on the same calendar day as a free-to-start Quest/Steam JRPG and one day before Paleo Dive on Steam, inside a September slate that already includes Detective VR’s PS VR2/Steam launch (September 9), Gunman Contracts Stand Alone (September 10), and Meta Connect (September 23–24). For Quest owners who bounced off Transformers when it was a PlayStation exclusive, Redux is the first chance to judge the rail-shooter loop on the headset they already own — with balance and upgrade systems the studio says it could not leave alone.
Wishlist it on the Meta Quest Store. September 3, 10:00 a.m. local store time is the useful clock, not another hardware rumor.
