Early Black Friday VR Deals 2026: Prices Checked

Early Black Friday VR deals 2026 matter more than usual this year. Meta raised Quest prices in April, Sony has removed PlayStation VR2 from its U.S. Direct store, and Valve’s Steam Frame still ships through a waitlist. Black Friday itself falls on November 27. This tracker lists only prices and stock status we verified on retailer pages on November 5, 2026, plus the software sales that are already live.

If you are still choosing a headset first, read our Quest 3 vs Quest 3S comparison and the upcoming VR headsets price guide. This page is about money and timing, not a full hardware review.

The short version

  • Meta Store list prices hold: Quest 3S 128GB $349.99, Quest 3S 256GB $449.99, Quest 3 512GB $599.99.
  • Major U.S. retailers are still matching those list prices on new sealed units; deep headset cuts have not appeared yet.
  • PlayStation VR2 is delisted on PlayStation Direct in the U.S.; do not treat marketplace markups near $750 as a holiday deal.
  • PlayStation Store’s Black Friday game sale is already live through November 30, with discounts up to 75% that include PS VR2 titles.
  • Steam Frame remains $1,059 (256GB) / $1,299 (1TB) on Valve’s waitlist; treat it as a separate purchase path, not a Black Friday SKU.

Meta Quest prices right now

On April 16, 2026, Meta published an update on Meta Quest pricing that took effect April 19. Quest 3 moved to $599.99. Quest 3S 128GB moved to $349.99 and Quest 3S 256GB to $449.99. Accessories were left unchanged in that announcement.

Those same figures still appear on Meta’s official compare page when we checked it on November 5. The Quest 3 buy page also shows $599.99 for the 512GB model. GamesRadar’s early Black Friday tracker, last updated November 4, likewise found Amazon listing Quest 3S 128GB at $349.99 and Quest 3S 256GB at $449, which matches Meta’s list rather than a cut.

ModelMeta Store (Nov 5)Pre-April 19 priceWhat to watch
Quest 3S 128GB$349.99$299.99Entry SKU; most likely holiday candidate
Quest 3S 256GB$449.99$399.99Storage-only step; often a weaker deal
Quest 3 512GB$599.99$499.99Best optics; watch for $50–$100 off or gift cards

Historical pattern, not a promise: Meta and big-box retailers have often used gift cards, game bundles or temporary $50–$100 cuts around Black Friday rather than permanent MSRP resets. After this year’s memory-driven increase, a return toward the old $299 / $499 floors would count as a real sale. Anything that only matches today’s list price is not a deal.

Accessories and refurbished

Official accessories are usually where early discounts show up first. The Meta Store product page for the Elite Strap with Battery currently exposes a schema price of $129.99. That is list, not a sale. Battery straps, charging docks and cases are the SKUs most likely to move before headset hardware does.

Refurbished Quest units can undercut new pricing, but stock and warranty terms change daily. Prefer Meta’s own refurbished channel or a major retailer with a clear return window. Marketplace “new” listings far below Meta’s list price are a red flag after the April increase.

PlayStation VR2: hardware scarcity, software sale

Sony permanently cut the recommended PS VR2 price to $399.99 in March 2025. That list price is now mostly theoretical in the United States. Road to VR reported on November 3 that PlayStation Direct no longer sells the headset in the U.S. or Japan, while UK and EU storefronts still carry it. Best Buy and Walmart listings that remain are largely third-party, with Road to VR citing marketplace asks around $750.

Paying nearly double the old list price weeks before Black Friday is not a strategy. If you need PS VR2 specifically, wait for official restock commentary, check certified refurbished channels, or buy in a region where Sony still sells direct. Existing owners are in a better spot: software support continues, and new ports such as Forefront and Zero Caliber 2 Remastered still arrive on the platform.

On the software side, Sony’s promotion is already running. The PlayStation Blog post dated November 3 says Black Friday deals on PlayStation Store began November 4 and run through November 30, with discounts up to 75% across thousands of PS5, PS4 and PS VR2 games, expansions and DLC. The catalog refreshes on November 16; some offers end November 20. For library building, that sale is the actionable PS VR2 deal this month. Our best PS VR2 games list is a useful shopping checklist while those discounts rotate.

Steam Frame and PC VR

Valve priced Steam Frame at $1,059 for the 256GB kit and $1,299 for the 1TB kit when reservations opened in September. Independent stock trackers still show a U.S. waitlist as of early November, not open cart checkout. There is no credible Black Friday cut to report on Frame itself because you cannot casually add one to a retail cart.

PC VR buyers should separate three budgets: the headset, a capable GPU, and the Steam / Quest game library. Steam autumn and holiday sales routinely discount VR titles independently of Frame hardware. If you already own a Quest, Link / Air Link remains the cheaper path into that library; see our guide on how to play PC VR games on Quest 3.

What is worth buying before November 27

Quest 2 and Quest Pro owners have a separate calendar pressure: Meta’s end-of-support timeline for those headsets. That does not create a fake urgency to overpay for Quest 3 today, but it does argue against investing in aging accessories. Details are in our Quest 2 / Quest Pro end of support report.

How we will update this tracker

We will refresh this page when a major U.S. retailer posts a verifiable cut below Meta’s current list, when Meta announces an official holiday hardware promotion, or when Sony clarifies PS VR2 Direct availability. Until then, treat social-media screenshots and gray-market “$249 Quest” posts as unverified.

Practical checklist before you click Buy:

  1. Compare the checkout price to Meta’s compare-page list, not to 2025 nostalgia prices alone.
  2. Confirm the seller is Meta, Amazon (sold/shipped by Amazon), Best Buy, Target, Walmart, GameStop or another named national retailer.
  3. Read whether the unit is new, open-box or refurbished, and what the return window is.
  4. For PS VR2, refuse marketplace asks far above the old $399.99 list unless you accept scarcity pricing on purpose.
  5. Stack software sales separately: PlayStation Store through November 30, plus Meta and Steam holiday events as they publish.

For content after you buy, our best Quest 3 games ranking and free-to-play picks are a better next step than rushing a second hardware purchase.
