While the real PRESIDENTS CUP unfolds west of Chicago, Golf+ just put the host LAYOUT into QUEST. MEDINAH Country Club No. 3 is LIVE as a paid COURSE pack, timed to the September 24–27 MATCHES that put the redesigned parkland test back on TELEVISION.
UploadVR reports the add-on costs $11.99 inside Golf+. Players who want the full course LIBRARY can instead take Golf+ PASS at $9.99 a MONTH or $99.99 a YEAR. The base game remains $29.99 on Quest with three ORIGINAL courses, and it also ships inside Meta’s HORIZON+ subscription. A STEAM release is still on the wishlist, not yet SHIPPED.
Real Medinah, Cup Week Timing
Medinah sits about twenty-five MILES west of downtown Chicago. The club has hosted three U.S. Opens, two PGA Championships, and the 2012 Ryder Cup. This week it ADDS the 16th PRESIDENTS CUP — the first time the event has come to the Chicago AREA, per Golf+’s own course brief and the official Cup SCHEDULE.
Brandt Snedeker captains the U.S. SIDE. Geoff Ogilvy captains the INTERNATIONALS — and Ogilvy’s OCM firm led the post-2019 REDESIGN that stripped TREES, widened FAIRWAYS, grew the BUNKER count, and rerouted the closing stretch around Lake Kadijah. Playing the layout in Golf+ this weekend is less a generic DLC drop and more a LIVE event tie-in: same HOLES the Tour is walking on TELEVISION.
What Changed on No. 3
Golf+’s blog frames No. 3 as a NEW Medinah after an October 2022 close and 2024 REOPEN. Hundreds of trees came out. Fairways got WIDER. Greens grew and picked up real CONTOUR. Bunkers jumped from roughly 70 to about 100 in a ragged, 1920s Bendelow STYLE. The last six holes were REROUTED: the 16th is now a short cape-style par 4 across the LAKE, the 17th a new par 3 the other way, and the 18th sits back beside the 1st. Par is listed at 72 and yardage around 7,564 in the club brief — championship setups still FLEX for the Cup.
Where It Fits in Golf+
Golf+ has spent 2026 stacking licensed layouts and practice tools — including the Immersive PUTTING mode we covered earlier that puts a real PUTTER into Quest 3 mixed REALITY. Medinah EXTENDS that catalog with a major-championship VENUE while the live Cup is still in PROGRESS. It does not change the core SWING model; it ADDS a destination Quest golfers can PLAY the same week the pros do.
For buyers: grab the $11.99 course if you only want Medinah, or use Pass if you are already collecting the LIBRARY. Base Golf+ stays a one-time $29.99 QUEST purchase (or Horizon+). STEAM remains a wishlist — UploadVR has not reported a ship DATE.
