Meta’s FIRST original immersive series is no longer a Connect TEASE. Open Season — six UNSCRIPTED therapy sessions with four-time NBA champion Draymond Green — is AVAILABLE TODAY in the TV app on Meta Quest. UploadVR logged the same-day UPDATE: the show is NOW LIVE.

Meta’s announcement (Sep 23) and Mixed-News (Chris Steven, Sep 25) framed the PREVIEW: Open Season is the opening TITLE under the new Meta Presents strand. TODAY is the DATE Meta actually named — September 29 — and the ONLY distribution path Meta has published is the TV app on QUEST.
What lands on headset TODAY
UploadVR describes SIX real sessions with sports psychologist Dr. Carrie Hastings, captured across Green’s 2025–26 season with the Golden State Warriors. Meta says the conversations are RAW and unscripted — Green working through technical FOULS, ejections, career PRESSURE, and the stigma that can keep athletes from asking for HELP.

Production CREDITS go to Skydance Sports, Green’s company The New Media, and Meta. The show was shot exclusively in stereoscopic 180° immersive video on Blackmagic URSA cameras — a FIXED seat in the ROOM with Green and Hastings. Mixed-News notes the FORMAT tradeoff CLEANLY: the camera does NOT move, and neither does the VIEWER. Presence comes from proximity, not free roam.
Commissioned, not licensed
That distinction still MATTERS on launch day. ESPN’s 8K college football feed and Industrial Light & Magic’s National Geographic: Beyond are third-party PROGRAMMING Meta bought in at Connect. Open Season is Meta paying to MAKE the show — commissioning its OWN immersive documentary. Everything ELSE in the Quest TV app still comes from somebody else.

Meta has still not named a SECOND Meta Presents TITLE. It has not published episode RUNTIMES or a PRICE. It has not said whether Open Season reaches the $1,299.99 Meta VR Glasses arriving in SPRING 2027. The route Meta gave in September — and the route that opens TODAY — is the TV app on Meta QUEST.
