PAYDAY: Aces High Release Date Set for Nov. 5 at $24.99

PAYDAY: Aces High now has a release date and a price. Fast Travel Games announced on October 19 that its officially licensed VR co-op heist game launches November 5, 2026 on Meta Quest, SteamVR and Valve’s Steam Frame for $24.99. A final playtest and a Steam Next Fest demo are live now and run through October 26.

The announcement closes a year of moving targets. Metaverse Watcher tracked the game from a vague Q4 2026 Steam window in September to the October 19 open playtest Meta set at Connect. Now there is a FIRM day, a FIRM price and one week of hands-on time before anyone has to pay.

Two details in that table matter most for buyers. First, the Meta Horizon Store listing names Quest 3 and Quest 3S as supported devices. Quest 2 does NOT appear, so owners of the older headset should not expect a native build on day one. Second, Steam Frame owners buy ONE version. Fast Travel said in an August 26 Steam announcement that the Steam Frame release is “the same version on the Steam store as the SteamVR version,” and Road to VR confirms the Steam purchase covers both PC VR streaming and native standalone play on the headset.

What is in the final playtest and demo

The free build that went live on October 19 includes TWO heists, according to UploadVR. The studio’s own post names them: the returning Flowtrust Bank job and a new Cosmopolitan Museum of Art location. Each can be played quietly or loud.

Everyone who joins gets an EXCLUSIVE Kitty Mask in the full game at launch. Fast Travel says the playtest stays open “as much as you want until Monday, October 26,” which lines up with the end of Steam Next Fest. Aces High is one of more than 40 PC VR demos in this edition. Several others went live early, as we covered in our look at Next Fest’s early PC VR demos.

How the game plays

The setup follows the series formula. Business titan Warren Jupiter frames the crew, and the Aces take revenge by hitting banks, museums and his “untouchable” penthouse. Players pick one of four roles named after card suits: the Mastermind (Hearts), the Ghost (Clubs), the Technician (Diamonds) and the Enforcer (Spades). Loadouts mix assault rifles, SMGs, shotguns and pistols with gadgets such as a grapple and sentry guns, unlocked with cash and reputation earned on jobs.

“On November 5, players get to plan the approach, handle the gear, and carry the bags out with their own hands, with three friends watching their back,” Fast Travel co-founder and chief creative officer Erik Odeldahl said in the release. Starbreeze CEO Adolf Kristjansson called Fast Travel “the very best VR studio in the business” and said playtest feedback had shaped the game.

Monday’s materials do NOT restate how much content ships on DAY ONE. The most specific figures still come from Odeldahl’s August interview with UploadVR, which described SIX heists and five difficulty levels at launch, with a seventh heist planned soon after. Treat those as the studio’s August plan until Fast Travel confirms the launch lineup.

PC VR requirements and other fine print

The Steam store page lists modest minimum specs for PC VR: Windows 10, a Core i5-7500 or Ryzen 5 1600, 12 GB of RAM, a GTX 1060 or RX 580 with 6 GB of video memory, and 10 GB of storage. The recommended specs are still BLANK.

  • Language: Steam lists English only, for interface and full audio.
  • In-game purchases: Steam flags in-game purchases, in-game chat and online interactivity. Fast Travel has NOT said what is sold beyond the $24.99 base game.
  • Content: Steam’s mature content note says the game “glorifies villainous acts” and contains high levels of violence.
  • PS VR2: The studio’s community post mentions ONLY a “possible” later launch. The press release lists no PlayStation version.

Why this launch matters for VR

Aces High is one of the few big licensed VR releases dated for the holiday window, and it lands on THREE storefronts at once. For Valve, it is another name brand that runs NATIVELY on Steam Frame rather than only through PC streaming, a gap we weighed in our Steam Frame vs Quest 3 buying guide. For Meta, it is a FOUR-player game aimed at Quest 3 and 3S owners before Meta VR Glasses arrive next spring.

The $24.99 price also sets it apart from the usual full-price VR shooters. The real test is DEPTH. If launch ships with the six heists Odeldahl described, the price looks fair for a co-op game built to be replayed. If it ships LIGHTER, the in-game purchases flag will draw more attention. Players can judge two of those heists for FREE until October 26.
