Even Realities is rolling out Even G2 update 2.4.0, a software release the company calls its LARGEST since April. It gives the camera-free display glasses a user-controlled memory called Knowledge Base, an upgraded assistant called Even AI 2.0, a live coaching feature named AI Cue Expert Mode, a beta of Conversate Pro Mode and Insights, and a Dark UI. The update arrived on the same day as the $649 Even G2 Brown 2 colorway, but it applies to EVERY G2, so existing owners get the new features WITHOUT buying new hardware.

What Even G2 Update 2.4.0 Adds
Based on the company’s announcement as reported by 9to5Google, Trusted Reviews and Android Headlines, the release has five parts:
- Knowledge Base (beta). Owners can import past Conversate sessions or upload files, and the app arranges them into a visual “Knowledge Tree” of connected topics. The USER decides what is added, updated or removed. At setup, up to 10 Conversate records can be selected; new sessions are only added automatically if the user switches on automatic uploads.
- Even AI 2.0. The assistant now draws on Knowledge Base for answers, keeps context ACROSS follow-up questions, and can pick up earlier conversations. It can be started by pressing and holding the touch sensor (recording stops on release), supports multi-turn chats without repeating the wake word, and can open Even Hub apps and change some settings from the chat.
- AI Cue Expert Mode. During a sales call, interview or class, it shows relevant information, flags unanswered questions and suggests next steps in the wearer’s field of view.
- Conversate Pro Mode and Insights (beta). Beyond meeting summaries, it highlights priorities, risks and recommended next steps, and links each insight to the moment in the conversation it came from.
- Dark UI. A dark interface option for the app.

Where Your Data Goes, and What Beta Means
Knowledge Base is the feature most likely to raise questions, because it asks owners to keep recordings of their conversations in the cloud. According to 9to5Google, Conversate recordings and uploaded files sync to Google Cloud Platform servers located in the EU, and Even AI and live Conversate sessions then pull context from that store. The design is OPT-IN by record: NOTHING joins the Knowledge Base unless the user selects it or turns on automatic uploads.
Both Knowledge Base and Conversate Pro Mode launch in beta with a monthly usage allowance. Even Realities has NOT said what the allowance is, or whether the features will cost extra once the beta ends. Owners who come to rely on them for work should still treat the pricing as an open question.
The rollout is also STAGGERED. When Metaverse Watcher checked Apple’s App Store listing for the Even Realities app at about 2:30 p.m. ET on October 26, it still showed version 2.3.3, released October 21 with battery and stability fixes. If the update has not reached your phone yet, that is the likely reason. The previous feature release, app 2.3.2, required matching firmware on BOTH the G2 and the R1 ring before its new features appeared, so expect to update the glasses AND the app.
Why It Matters for Display Glasses
The G2 has a green micro LED display at 640 × 350 resolution and four microphones, but NO camera. That choice limits what its AI can know about the world around you, so Even Realities is building context from what you hear and save, NOT what you see. Knowledge Base turns the glasses from a live caption and translation tool into something closer to a meeting assistant that remembers your projects. The approach also differs from camera-based assistants such as Meta AI on Ray-Ban Meta glasses, where the camera supplies much of the context.
Controls have been the most common complaint in G2 reviews, including TechRadar’s review. Touch-and-hold activation and multi-turn chats address part of that, since owners no longer need to REPEAT a wake word for every follow-up. Developers have also been pushing the platform: one owner showed a G2 connected to AI coding agents running on their own development machines earlier this month.
Sunday morning geekery: got Paseo.sh working on my @EvenRealities G2 glasses so I can talk to the agent swarm on my dev boxes without reaching for my phone, laptop, or desktop.

How Even G2 Compares
The G2 starts at $599 in standard colors, with Brown 2 at $649. Its closest rival with an in-lens display is the Meta Ray-Ban Display at $799 with the Meta Neural Band, which adds a color display and a camera. Shoppers who only want audio and an assistant can look at cheaper options such as Ray-Ban Meta Audio. Our best smart glasses of 2026 guide compares each category side by side.
The Bottom Line
For current owners, Even G2 update 2.4.0 is a FREE and meaningful upgrade, and the touch activation and multi-turn chat alone should make daily use smoother. Knowledge Base and Pro Mode are the bigger bet: useful for people who live in meetings, but still in BETA, capped by an unstated monthly allowance, and dependent on keeping conversation records in Even’s cloud. Wait for the FINAL pricing before building a workflow around them.
