Buffalo Buffalo’s cozy bird PHOTOGRAPHY game is leaving the Quest silo. UploadVR reports Birdseed VR arrives on SteamVR on OCTOBER 8, with CROSS-PLAY so Steam and Meta players can birdwatch together.

The Steam store page lists the same DATE — October 8, 2026 — and tags the title as FREE TO PLAY, Casual, Indie, Simulation, and VR Only. Online co-op is listed. System requirements call for OpenXR on Windows 10 64-bit with a GTX 1660–class GPU or equivalent.
What You Get on Day One
Birdseed is a RELAXED hangout: hang around a charming forest, photograph SILLY birds, fill a Journal, and run quirky daily quests. UploadVR’s earlier Quest hands-on called it a game that invites you to SLOW DOWN in a peaceful slice of nature. The studio’s Bluesky note, quoted by UploadVR, frames the Steam build as play-with-friends from Steam OR Meta.

On Quest, Birdseed left Early Access in APRIL with a Scout’s Store for camera skins, lenses, and charms, multiplayer IMPROVEMENTS, and several new birds. UploadVR notes it is still unclear whether the SteamVR build ships every Quest update on DAY ONE — that will be verified at launch.
Why the Steam Window Matters
Quest 3 and 3S already have the FULL release. Steam is the missing HALF of a cross-play cozy title: PC VR owners finally join the same sessions instead of watching from the sidelines. For October’s calendar — already crowded with Steam Frame and glasses news — a FREE TO PLAY birding sim is a low-friction way to put a headset back on without another $15 impulse buy.

Confirmed from UploadVR and Steam: OCTOBER 8 SteamVR launch, FREE TO PLAY listing, online co-op, Quest CROSS-PLAY promised, developer/publisher Buffalo Buffalo. Not yet confirmed in those sources: whether every Quest post–Early Access bird and shop item lands in the Steam build on day one, or a precise player CAP beyond UploadVR’s multiplayer framing.
