Eclipse Automation, the Cambridge, Ontario factory-automation BUILDER, says it has OPENED a FREE public preview of Eclipse RealitySync on iPhone, iPad and Apple Vision Pro. The October 15 release pitches it as a way for CUSTOMERS to WALK through a production line before it is BUILT, then follow the REAL line as it is assembled. Apple’s OWN listing tells a QUIETER story: the app has been on the App Store since MAY, and the build anyone can download TODAY is version 1.1.1 from JUNE 23, with release notes that read, in full, “changed some of asset names.”
That does NOT make the announcement EMPTY. It does mean the news is a POSITIONING change, not a NEW piece of SOFTWARE. The part that MATTERS to BUYERS, their OWN factory, is STILL gated behind a PILOT.

What Eclipse is actually offering
According to Eclipse, Vision Pro places the user INSIDE a proposed automation system at FULL scale to judge equipment relationships, CLEARANCES, operator access, maintenance access and material flow. On iPhone and iPad, the same project opens on a device teams ALREADY carry and, on SUPPORTED models, can be placed in a physical room. As FABRICATION moves along, Eclipse says it adds “spatial scans of the real line” captured at key points, so STAKEHOLDERS get a CURRENT view BETWEEN formal milestone reviews. Reviewers can PIN feedback to a specific piece of equipment or area and share it with the Eclipse project team.
The catch sits in ONE sentence of the release: “Customer project environments are private and are provided separately through participating Eclipse project teams.” The public download is a DEMONSTRATION. Eclipse says it is “now identifying active projects” for a LIMITED pilot, and interested customers are told to contact their sales account team. There is NO price, NO pilot size and NO date for GENERAL availability.
The App Store record
The App Store listing names the SELLER as Interaptix Inc., NOT Eclipse. Its version history shows THREE builds:
- 1.0, May 18: the FIRST release.
- 1.1, June 22: “all new assets,” plus corrected marketing links. That is OPENING day of Automate 2026 in Chicago, which ran June 22 to 25.
- 1.1.1, June 23: “changed some of asset names.”
The listing puts the download at 197.6 MB and asks for iOS 18.0 or later on iPhone and iPad and visionOS 26.0 or later on Vision Pro. It also ADVERTISES SharePlay support. As of this writing it has NOT received enough ratings to display a score.
The TIMING fits Eclipse’s own account. The company says it DEBUTED RealitySync at Automate in June with MORE than 100 Vision Pro demonstrations over FOUR days, and that the lines exposed a practical LIMIT. “Interest was never the challenge. Access was,” said Brad Zalischuk, Eclipse’s Director of Digital Innovation and Transformation. “Dedicated spatial computing devices are not yet widely adopted across most plants.” In other words, the OCTOBER news is Eclipse leaning on the PHONE and TABLET as the DEFAULT viewer, with the HEADSET as the PREMIUM view.

Where the Gaussian splats come in
Eclipse’s release says “spatial scans” and NEVER names the CAPTURE method. Its partners have been LESS coy. In an October 2025 interview on Eclipse’s OWN site, Zalischuk said the company was “creating Gaussian splats of all our machines so every sales engineer can show clients our catalog in collaborative one-to-one XR,” and called XR headsets, “especially the Apple Vision Pro,” the BIGGEST viewing platform. Interaptix CEO Bardia Bina DESCRIBED a pipeline of phone photos or video uploaded for cloud processing, with results “within a couple of hours.” Radiance Fields, which FIRST flagged the STALE App Store build, also notes that Eclipse has not published file sizes, capture hardware, or how the build scans are produced and rendered on each device.
The App Store SCREENSHOTS hint at the same split. One gallery screen lists scenes with paired names such as “250620-06000-CAD” and “250620-06000-Reality,” alongside a “Vention Gantry” and a de Havilland Chipmunk aircraft credited to the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, under a welcome card that reads “Machine teleportation, now in your hands.” The screenshots carry a TestFlight label and a May 15 timestamp, so they show a PRE-RELEASE build, NOT necessarily what SHIPS today.
The Metaverse Watcher read
INDUSTRIAL design review is one of the FEW places where Vision Pro has a CLEAR job: walk a line at TRUE scale before anyone cuts steel. Eclipse’s LOGIC is SOUND, and so is its admission that most plants do not own headsets. But a “launch” that ships NO new CODE, keeps EVERY customer project behind a sales conversation, and leaves the capture pipeline UNDOCUMENTED is a MARKETING milestone. The REAL test is the PILOT. Watch for a NEW App Store build, a NAMED pilot customer, and ANY disclosure of how OFTEN scans are refreshed during a build. Until then, the PUBLIC app is a well-made BROCHURE.
RealitySync is now in free preview on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro. Walk through an automation system before it’s built, then follow the real line as it comes together.
