Where Meta looks more convincing is the moment the product touches the face: film, sport, and portable WORK that do not feel like wearing machinery. Meta also promises Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos in the frames, IMAX Enhanced certification, and more than 75 hand-gesture games at launch, while running the same Horizon OS store as Quest — so the catalog is not starting from ZERO.
Gadgets Now widens the table beyond a two-horse race. Samsung Galaxy XR (about $1,799.99, about 109° FOV, Android XR) is the premium Android alternative on sale now. Valve Steam Frame (about $1,059 entry) remains the Steam PC specialist. Meta Quest 3 (from about $599.99) is still the LOWEST-RISK first headset.
