Into the Radius 2 Locks PS VR2 for September 24. Co-op Waits Until Q4.

Into the Radius 2 locks a firm PlayStation VR2 day. CM Immersive’s hardcore VR survival shooter arrives on Sony’s headset on September 24, 2026, with a complete single-player campaign at launch and two-player co-op held for a free update in Q4. The date and feature split come from game director Aleksei Shulga’s PlayStation Blog post, with matching detail in Road to VR and the PlayStation Store concept page.

That calendar sits eleven days out from today. PC VR left Early Access on April 23. The Quest build was set to leave Early Access on August 27. PS VR2 is the console slot that still needed a hard day, and Sony’s blog closed it.

What ships on September 24

Launch on PS VR2 is single-player first. Shulga’s post is explicit: a rebuilt campaign lands on day one; co-op arrives later as a free Q4 update so partners can share resources, cover sightlines, and plan routes together. Road to VR’s August 26 write-up adds the campaign shape the studio has been using for the full version: a voiced story with 10 main quests, 178 side missions, and five Security Levels across three main locations plus two unlockable sub-locations.

Loadouts are the other headline. The PlayStation Blog describes physical chest-rig, armor, and backpack configuration down to pouch angles, modular weapon parts that track wear and dirt separately, and paint options across solid colors and camo. Skip maintenance between runs and dirty parts jam when it matters. Road to VR cites more than 50 firearms across 25 weapon types, plus night vision, flare rockets, and dual-mode IR lasers for night expeditions.

PS VR2 hardware hooks

CM Immersive is wiring the port to Sense hardware rather than shipping a generic OpenXR build. Confirmed on the PlayStation Blog:

  • Adaptive triggers with distinct resistance by firearm action
  • Headset and controller haptics for anomaly pulses and close-quarter impacts
  • Native 90 fps with eye-tracked foveated rendering
  • 3D / spatial audio for flanking footsteps and hazard cues

The Store concept page lists PS VR2 and Sense controllers as required, with optional headset vibration, controller vibration, and trigger effects. Sitting and standing play styles are both supported.

Threats that still move on their own schedule

The Pechorsk Anomaly remains the point of the game. Shulga’s post names Mimics that use cover and flank in fog, Fragments that rush to break a line, Phantoms that stay mostly invisible until you stop moving, and Creeps that force fast reaction before a swarm. Distortion Zones drain health without anti-distortion headgear. A periodic Tide resets enemy and loot positions so routes do not stay safe. None of that is new marketing fluff for PS VR2 alone; it is the same survival loop the PC and Quest builds already sell, now with Sense-specific feedback on the triggers and headset.

Why the date matters this month

September 24 is late enough to clear Meta Connect (September 23–24) and Steam Frame’s still-unconfirmed mid-September window, and early enough to put a major survival shooter on PS VR2 before the holiday software crush. Co-op stays in Q4, which is the honest trade: day-one atmosphere and Sense haptics first, shared expeditions after. Wishlist is live on the PlayStation Store concept page ahead of the 24th.
