Meta Connect 2026 finally has a clock. Secondary reporting on Meta’s published developer agenda puts Mark Zuckerberg’s keynote at 4:00 PM PT on Wednesday, September 23, with the Developer Overview at 10:00 AM PT on Thursday, September 24. Free virtual registration remains open at meta.com/connect. That start time was still blank when we briefed the roadmap on September 7.
The more useful tell is what the agenda does not schedule. Per Smart Glasses Geek’s September 10 read of the published program, not one named session announces a new headset. What it does list is software for glasses: web apps for Meta Ray-Ban Display, a Wearables Device Access Toolkit path for bringing mobile experiences to AI glasses, builder and design sessions for AI glasses, Muse Spark multimodal work, and “A practical guide to controller-free interaction.” Only the keynote and Developer Overview carry fixed times; the rest are on-demand.
What changed since our September 7 briefing
Our earlier Connect preview treated the keynote as a late-afternoon Pacific slot without a posted minute. That gap is closed. Independent agenda summaries match the same 4:00 PM PT / 10:00 AM PT pair and the same wearables-heavy session titles. Meta’s public Connect page still frames the livestream around AI technologies, AI glasses, and VR — glasses language first.
None of that rules out a headset tease inside Zuckerberg’s keynote. CTO Andrew Bosworth’s July “stay tuned” line about next headsets still stands, and this week’s Phoenix firmware visuals keep the ultralight puck-tethered silhouette in the news cycle. Reporting still points those projects at 2027 ship windows. An agenda without a headset session title is a signal about developer priorities, not a guarantee the keynote stays silent on hardware.
How to watch
Set the calendar in Pacific Time. Wednesday’s keynote is the consumer announcement hour; Thursday’s Developer Overview is where builders learn what they can ship against glasses APIs still described as Developer Preview elsewhere. Register early at Meta Connect. For dated rumor hygiene, keep VR.org’s Connect tracker open — and treat any “Quest 4 this year” headline as noise until Meta puts a price and a buy date on stage.
