This is the first edition of New VR Games This Week, Metaverse Watcher’s twice-weekly roundup of what actually shipped for Meta Quest, PC VR, PS VR2 and Steam Frame, with verified release dates, store prices and the games worth watching next. The week of October 26 to November 1 is dominated by Valve’s Steam Scream V horror festival (October 26 through November 2), and the release slate reflects it: a co-op shooter finally reaching Early Access, a horror escape room leaving Early Access, and a handful of small PC VR launches.
The short version: EXOSHOCK is the release most VR players should look at this week, Dark Trip is the Halloween pick, and Voxel Playground is the cheapest good time on Steam at $6.99. No major PS VR2 release landed this week.

EXOSHOCK: The Week’s Biggest VR Launch

PolarityOne’s EXOSHOCK entered Early Access on October 29 on Meta Quest 3 and 3S and on PC VR through Steam, at $19.99. It is a one-to-four player cooperative sci-fi PvE shooter, and it is a true hybrid: flatscreen PC players can join the same squad as VR players, with cross-play across all platforms. Solo play works with AI teammates and, according to the Steam page, completely offline.
Three details matter for buyers. First, the developer says on Steam that it expects the game to stay in Early Access for about 12 months and that the price will rise as content is added, so the current price is the low point. Second, the studio’s own launch notes say it focused on VR performance and polish for this release and that flatscreen play is “at an earlier stage.” Third, Quest support is limited to Quest 3 and 3S; Quest 2 owners are not on the supported list on the Quest store listing. UploadVR, which played the earlier Founder’s Edition in April, called it “one of the most exciting shooters VR has seen in a long time.”
Minimum PC specs are modest: a GTX 970 or RX 570, an Intel Core i7-4790K or Ryzen 5 1500X, 8 GB of RAM and 12 GB of storage. If you plan to play the Steam version on a Quest, our guide to playing PC VR games on Quest 3 and 3S covers Link, Air Link and Steam Link setup.
Dark Trip: The Halloween Pick

Bulgarian studio iWorlds timed Dark Trip to land during Steam Scream V. The gothic horror escape room has been in Early Access on Quest since February 2025; on October 29 it launched on Steam with both SteamVR and keyboard-and-mouse support, and, per the studio’s announcement, the Quest version leaves Early Access at the same time. On Steam it is $16.99 during the launch discount, down from a regular $19.99.
The game mixes puzzle rooms, occult locations and hallucination mechanics rather than jump-scare combat, which makes it a better fit for players who want horror atmosphere without a shooter. If you are building a Halloween playlist, our tracker of Halloween VR events in 2026 and when they end lists the seasonal updates still live in other games.
Voxel Playground Arrives on PC VR

Cydream’s destructible physics sandbox Voxel Playground reached Steam on October 27 at $6.99 in Early Access, after launching on Quest at the end of 2025. The Steam build includes everything from the recent Quest update, including the new Bank Heist map, mod support and survival mode, and it is playable in VR or on a monitor. UploadVR reports that multiplayer is planned for a Christmas update. We covered the launch in detail in Voxel Playground PC VR Launch: Steam Price and Features.
Smaller PC VR Releases Worth a Look
- History Experience: Rome (Oct 26): a VR-only walkthrough of daily life in ancient Rome, starting with a Roman domus. It is $4.19 on a launch discount from $6.99.
- Black Hole Simulator (Oct 29): a real-time black hole visualization with gravitational lensing and a volumetric accretion disk, playable in VR or flatscreen. Note that a separate, older app with the same name sells for $1.99 on Steam, so check the developer before buying.
- Solo Tower Defense VR (Oct 30): a single-player shooter in which you warp between two lanes and pick upgrade cards between waves.
- MOLY (Nov 1): a free, VR-only puzzle and rowing experience. Free is the right price to try something experimental.
Several other titles on community release calendars this week, including Night Drive VR: Anomaly, Droste Detective and My Octopus Friend, still showed “coming soon” or later dates on their Steam pages when we checked, so we have left them out until they are actually buyable.
Notable Updates This Week
Not every worthwhile download is a new game. This week also brought the Forsaken update for No Man’s Sky; our breakdown of what No Man’s Sky Forsaken 7.10 means for VR players covers the changes. UploadVR also reports Halloween content for Ghosts of Tabor and Knights of Fiona. On the sales side, Steam Scream V runs through November 2, which is why many horror titles carry launch or festival discounts right now.
Coming Next Week: Nov 2 – Nov 8
| Game | Date (Steam) | Platforms | What it is |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dance of Drauganna | Nov 2 | PC VR, Meta Quest | Narrative rhythm-dance experience |
| Saddlebow | Nov 2 | PC VR | Mounted archery hunting |
| STUFFED: Two Foot Hero | Nov 3 | PC VR | Co-op wave shooter as a teddy bear |
| Lucky Shot VR | Nov 4 | PC VR | Roguelike shooting-range FPS |
| PAYDAY: Aces High | Nov 5 | PC VR, Meta Quest | Four-player co-op heist shooter |
Next week’s headline is PAYDAY: Aces High from Fast Travel Games, the VR spin on the heist series, which has a demo out now on Quest and PC VR according to UploadVR. Further out, the free-to-play zombie shooter Fading Light VR arrives on Quest on November 12; see our report on Fading Light VR’s free-to-play launch.
Which New VR Game Should You Buy This Week?
- If you play with friends: EXOSHOCK, given four-player co-op, cross-play with flatscreen friends and an Early Access price that the developer says will go up.
- If you want Halloween horror: Dark Trip, especially while the Steam launch discount lasts.
- If you want something cheap and chaotic: Voxel Playground at $6.99.
- If you only have a Quest 2: check each store page carefully; EXOSHOCK lists Quest 3 and 3S only. Our Quest 3 vs Quest 3S buying guide can help if you are thinking about upgrading before the holidays.
