Pinball FX VR is coming to Steam Frame as a Frame-only build. Zen Studios posted the plan on September 3: a $9.99 base game with three Zen Originals, the full Meta Quest table slate planned as paid add-ons at launch, no Quest-to-Frame ownership transfer, and no Mixed Reality on day one. The Steam listing is live as Coming Soon. There is still no ship date.

That Frame-only line is the story. Steam’s short description and categories tag the title VR Only and say the game supports Steam Frame hardware only — not a general SteamVR PC port you can throw at any Index or Quest Link rig. Zen is mirroring the Quest commercial shape while tying the binary to Valve’s upcoming headset.
What Zen locked in writing
Per the Zen Studios announcement and the matching Steam news post:
- Base price: $9.99
- Included tables: Sky Pirates: Treasures of the Clouds, Pinball Noir, Curse of the Mummy — the same three Zen Originals that open the Quest SKU
- Launch library goal: all 42 tables currently on Meta Quest planned as separate add-ons at Frame launch, with more tables later
- Complete Bundles: dynamic bundles with a lasting 40% discount if you already own the flat Pinball FX versions of those tables
- Transfers: Meta Quest purchases do not move to Steam Frame; Zen says store rules block cross-store transfer
- Visuals / physics: targeting a Meta Quest 3-like look; tables keep Zen’s “Normal” physics
- Mixed Reality: not shipping at launch
- Date: “shared soon” — Steam still reads Coming soon

Why the Frame-only tag matters
Valve is still inside its summer 2026 Frame window, and Frame software is the scarce signal buyers actually have. A known Quest hit arriving as a native Frame SKU — with the Quest library planned on day one — is catalog insurance, not a physics breakthrough. It also draws a hard line under rebuy economics: Quest owners who jump hardware redo the table spend, tempered only by the flat Pinball FX Complete Bundle discount if they already bought those tables on the 2D Steam version.
Mixed Reality’s absence is the other cut. On Quest, Pinball FX VR leans on passthrough to drop cabinets into a living room. Frame launch drops that path. You get the ’80s arcade shell and Normal physics Zen is known for; you do not get the room-scale MR pitch on day one.
