September 17 Stacks Four VR Drops and One Deletion. Firewall Ultra Dies the Same Morning.

Wednesday, September 17, 2026 is five days out — and it is the densest single day left on this month’s VR calendar. UploadVR’s September board stacks three dated launches and a free open beta. Sony’s own blog stacks a hard stop: Firewall Ultra dies at 10:00 a.m. PDT the same morning. Launches and a deletion share one date. Here is the board, with prices and platforms only where stores and press have locked them.

  • CleanSheet Soccer 2 — Meta Quest, September 17 (~09:00). Pre-order $19.99 (−20%) against a $24.99 list on Quest Store trackers; PlayStation VR2 already live at $34.99.
  • Sol Protocol — Quest 3 / 3S Early Access, September 17 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. Pre-order $9.99, rising to $12.99 at full release. SteamVR still aimed at October.
  • CONVRGENCE 1.0 — SteamVR, September 17. Solo-dev extraction shooter leaves Early Access after more than two years.
  • EXOSHOCK open beta — Quest 3 / 3S and SteamVR, September 17. Final free playtest before Early Access later this fall; flatscreen + VR cross-play.
  • Firewall Ultra — PlayStation VR2 online features terminate September 17 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. No offline mode. The game stops being playable.

CleanSheet Soccer 2 — stop the ball on Quest

Incisiv’s goalkeeper sim already shipped on PlayStation VR2 in June. The Quest build locks September 17 with standing or room-scale play on Quest 2 / Pro / 3 / 3S. UploadVR’s James Tocchio framed the loop as training missions, mock games, and arcade drills where you punch, block, catch, and deflect rather than chase highlight-reel goals. Quest Store DB’s listing still shows the feature map Incisiv is selling: motion-captured corners and free kicks, Matrix Reflex and Fast Hands drills, three clubs, and a career path with gear unlocks.

Treat the Quest sticker as the one on the current store mirror — $24.99 list with a $19.99 pre-order through launch — not the $34.99 PS VR2 SKU. Whether the Interactive Coaches Update that landed on PS VR2 is day-one on Quest is still unstated. Wishlist and pre-order pages are live on the Meta Horizon Store.

Sol Protocol — three seats, $9.99 Early Access

Singular Perception’s co-op space roguelike hits Quest 3 / 3S Early Access on the 17th at 10:00 a.m. PDT. Meta’s store page matches UploadVR’s August date lock. Pre-orders sit at $9.99 against a $12.99 full price. SteamVR remains October. You and two friends rotate pilot, gunner, and engineer through procedurally generated star systems — the Bridge Crew / FTL / Void Crew lineage the studio names openly.

VR.org’s September read is the useful caveat: Automa bots and smaller-crew ship configs are in development, not day-one features. Plan launch week around humans. Biweekly playtests with cross-play have been the free try-before-you-buy path; the studio site and Steam wishlist remain the public doors.

CONVRGENCE 1.0 and EXOSHOCK’s last free test

CONVRGENCE, the STALKER-flavored solo extraction shooter from Monkey-With-a-Bomb, leaves SteamVR Early Access on September 17. UploadVR’s August calendar piece and the Steam listing both carry that day. The 1.0 patch is framed as a story rework with voice acting, a proper ending and final location, advanced graphics and difficulty settings, cloud saves, and a new tutorial. The game has sat at a Very Positive Steam rating through more than two years of Early Access; price rose earlier to $24.99.

EXOSHOCK opens its free beta the same day on Quest 3 / 3S and SteamVR — single-player plus up to four-player co-op, with flatscreen PC in the mix and cross-play between VR and desktop. PolarityOne positions it as the last free playtest before Early Access later this fall. A free “Playtest App” with range, loadouts, tutorial, and customization is already the pre-beta on-ramp, per UploadVR’s September 10 report.

Firewall Ultra — the deletion on the same calendar square

Everything above is a ship or a beta. Firewall Ultra is a deletion. Sony’s March 2026 update to the original August 2023 PlayStation Blog post still says online features terminate on September 17, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. Because the title requires an online connection, Sony’s wording is absolute: after that timestamp the game “will no longer be playable.” There is no announced offline patch. First Contact Entertainment shut down years ago. The PlayStation Store concept page repeats the same cutoff.

We covered the eleven-day countdown on September 6. Five days out, the practical note is unchanged and finite: finish whatever matches or nostalgia runs are still possible before that Pacific morning hour. CONVRGENCE, CleanSheet, Sol Protocol, and EXOSHOCK open doors. Firewall Ultra closes one.

Why the date matters this week

September 17 sits between Snap’s SPECS stage on the 16th and Meta Connect on the 23rd–24th, with Steam Frame still undated inside Valve’s summer window. It is not a hardware day. It is a content stress test plus an online-only elegy: three Quest-facing bets, one SteamVR 1.0, one free co-op beta, and a PSVR2 shooter that hits a calendar and stops.

If you only pick one Quest title, CleanSheet is the solo sports slot and Sol Protocol is the three-friend co-op slot. On PC, CONVRGENCE is the extraction 1.0; EXOSHOCK is the free try. And if you still have Firewall Ultra installed, the useful reminder is narrower than any launch trailer — 10:00 a.m. PDT on the 17th is the hard stop.
