SammyGuru Puts Samsung’s Smart Glasses at About 41 Grams and Shows Every Gentle Monster and Warby Parker Frame

SammyGuru published an October 12 exclusive that finally puts a NUMBER on Samsung’s first Android XR smart glasses: about 41 GRAMS with standard lenses. The same report also lays out the FULL frame catalog for Gentle Monster and Warby Parker — SIX Gentle Monster shapes in 16 finishes, and THREE named Warby Parker styles in 10 versions — weeks before the NOVEMBER on-sale WINDOW Samsung has already SIGNALED.

What SammyGuru Says Is New

  • Weight: About 41g with STANDARD lenses. Prescription inserts ADD a little, and the exact figure VARIES by model. Earlier Korean reports had floated roughly 46g; April LEAK renders had put the target near 50g. At Unpacked, Samsung would only say the glasses were LIGHTER than most AI glasses.
  • Chip and memory: Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1, with 2 GB of RAM and 64 GB of STORAGE for photos and video before transfer to the phone.
  • Camera and audio: A 12 MP camera that can record 3K video at 30 fps, TWO open-ear speakers, and FOUR microphones for calls and Gemini.
  • Battery and sealing: Up to NINE hours on the glasses, or up to 72 hours with the charging CASE — in line with Unpacked claims. The frames are rated IPX4; the CASE is NOT water resistant.
  • No display: Spoken replies come through the speakers. There is STILL no in-lens UI on this first generation.

None of those SPEC numbers APPEAR in Samsung’s own October FCC coverage path, which CLEARED radios for models SM-O200P and SM-O200J ahead of a November launch without PUBLISHING weight, RAM, or a frame-by-frame CATALOG. SammyGuru’s piece is the FIRST TRADE report to put the 41g figure and the FULL SKU tree in one place.

Every Frame SammyGuru Has Seen

Gentle Monster had mainly shown BLACK frames in PUBLIC demos. SammyGuru says it has now seen SIX shapes across 16 versions: a squared frame, a rounder frame, a bolder square, a cat-eye, a slim oval, and another oval — including the FIRST NON-BLACK Gentle Monster COLORWAYS (light gray, pale lilac, burgundy, cream). Shape and color NAMES in the report are SammyGuru’s own descriptions, not Samsung’s SKUs.

Warby Parker’s lineup is NAMED: Alden, Reid, and Wren. Alden and Wren come in Pine and Saddle; Reid comes in Jet Black. Each combination is offered with CLEAR lenses or as sunglasses, for TEN versions total. Warby Parker also gets its OWN navy charging case, according to the report.

Where and When — Still Incomplete

SammyGuru expects sales to BEGIN in NOVEMBER. Gentle Monster frames would sell in SOUTH KOREA and the UNITED STATES; Warby Parker frames would be US-only. Buyers could purchase through each brand’s website and stores, plus Samsung Experience Stores in the US. PRICE is STILL unpublished. Samsung’s SERVICES and FEATURES are meant for people 18 and OLDER. In the US, Gentle Monster would sell PRESCRIPTION lenses through its site; in Korea, through a local optician.

Galaxy-specific FEATURES REQUIRE a recent Galaxy S, Z Fold, or Z Flip phone running One UI 9 or later; watch gestures need a Galaxy Watch on Wear OS 7 or later. Google and Gentle Monster have both said the glasses also work with OTHER Android phones and iPhones for BASIC compatibility — the Galaxy requirements apply to the EXTRA Galaxy features, not to pairing itself. South Korean users would also get spoken directions through Naver Maps alongside Google Maps.

What Remains Unconfirmed

Samsung has NOT published an MSRP, an exact launch DAY, or an OFFICIAL weight. SammyGuru’s 41g figure and frame inventory are exclusive REPORTING, not a Samsung Newsroom brief. Until Samsung CONFIRMS those numbers on STAGE or in a store LISTING, treat them as the BEST available LEAK — and note that FCC clearance earlier this month only AUTHORIZED the RADIOS, not the RETAIL plan.
