Samsung’s first smart glasses look set to miss the November window the company pointed to just a month ago. According to a ChoSun Biz report picked up on Monday by 9to5Google, The Verge and TrendForce, Samsung and Google now plan to put the Android XR “Intelligent Eyewear” on sale in mid-December, and only in the United States and South Korea at first. Europe, China and Japan would follow later. Samsung has not confirmed the date, and there is still no price.

What the new report says
The key points from the ChoSun Biz report, as relayed by the outlets above:
- Timing: on sale in mid-December, which TrendForce notes is roughly a month later than the November launch a Samsung official described to The Korea Herald in early October.
- Markets: the US and South Korea first. Europe, China and Japan come later, per The Verge’s reading of the report. Canada does not appear in the initial rollout.
- Price: not finalized. Samsung has said only that the glasses will be priced at a “reasonable” level within the premium range.
- Hardware: Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1, up to nine hours of battery per charge, and a front camera on every model.
- Software: Gemini on Android XR, with real-time translation, voice-guided navigation and the ability to capture documents or meeting scenes and organize them in Samsung Notes on a paired Galaxy phone.
None of that changes the product itself. These are still display-free, camera-equipped audio glasses, closer to Ray-Ban Meta than to anything with a heads-up display. Our full Samsung Galaxy Glasses specs and price guide has the leaked weight, camera and frame details.
Samsung’s Intelligent Eyewear smart glasses will launch next month. Samsung’s first AI smart glasses, called Intelligent Eyewear, are reportedly set to launch in mid-December 2026. Initial availability will be limited to South Korea and the US, with China, Europe, and Japan…

Why a December date matters
A mid-December launch still lands inside the holiday window, but it gives Samsung only a couple of weeks of shelf time before Christmas, and it means Meta gets Black Friday on November 27 largely to itself. Meta’s lineup is already priced and in stores: Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) starts at $449, the camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio at $349, and the Oakley Meta Vanguard at $499. Until Samsung announces a price, shoppers comparing the two have nothing concrete to weigh.
The US-and-Korea-first plan also matters for the wider Android XR push. Google’s other headline glasses launch this fall, XREAL Aura, is a very different product: wired, display-equipped and priced from $1,099, with shipments due in mid-November. We covered that launch in XREAL Aura’s $1,099 price and shipping date. Samsung’s glasses are the mass-market half of the plan, and a narrow first rollout limits how many people will try Gemini on their face this year.

What we’re watching next
The two numbers that will decide how this launch is received are the PRICE and the exact on-sale date. Samsung has a habit of confirming hardware details through certifications first, and the glasses already cleared the FCC this fall. We will update this story when Samsung confirms a date or price.
