Sol Protocol PC VR Release Date Set for Nov. 11 on Steam

Sol Protocol, the three-player co-op space roguelike from Singular Perception, now has a firm PC VR date. The game enters Steam Early Access on November 11, 2026, with crossplay against the Quest version that launched in September. A free Steam demo is live now as part of Steam Next Fest, and the Steam store page lists the same November 11 date.

What Was Announced

According to UploadVR’s report, the Steam demo was built to onboard new players, with a tutorial and three sectors to explore. The PC launch will include every update the Quest build has received since September, plus the in-game roadmap where players vote on what gets built next.

The first fan-voted feature is a crafting system that turns unwanted loot into ship upgrades. Singular Perception says it will ship with the Steam version or shortly after. PC players who want more than the demo can sign up through the studio’s Discord for a playtest planned for the end of October.

A Month Later Than Planned

The PC version has slipped once already. When we covered the Quest Early Access launch at $11.99, Steam was still targeted for October. That followed a two-day Quest delay from September 17 to September 19. November 11 is about three weeks past that original window, a modest slip for a small studio shipping on a second platform.

The Steam page does not show a price yet, and it says the price may rise when the game leaves Early Access, with any change announced in advance. Minimum specs are modest: an Intel Core i5-4590, 8 GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GTX 1060-class GPU and 6 GB of storage, running through OpenXR.

How the Game Plays

The design centers on one interactive spaceship crewed by three people in three stations: pilot, gunner and engineer. Players explore procedurally generated sectors, choosing each jump on a 3D map that shows hostility and potential rewards, then fight other ships and salvage stations and planets to repair and upgrade their own.

The main caveat remains the crew size. Singular Perception is still developing a bot system called Automa to handle ship functions for solo and two-player groups. Until that arrives, Sol Protocol is a game for a full trio, which makes crossplay more important than usual: a group no longer needs everyone on the same headset.

What It Means

Co-op VR games depend on how many friends own a copy, so adding the Steam audience on day one of the PC launch, with shared lobbies, is the most direct way for Sol Protocol to grow its player base. It also arrives as more PC VR players come online with Valve’s Steam Frame; our Steam Frame vs Quest 3 guide covers what that headset changes, and the best VR headsets of 2026 roundup covers the rest of the market.

Sol Protocol joins a busy run of VR releases. PAYDAY: Aces High arrives November 5, and several other titles used this festival for demos, as we noted in our look at the early Steam Next Fest PC VR demos. For players with two reliable friends, the free demo is the low-risk way to find out whether their crew can hold a bridge together before November 11.
