Sol Protocol is LIVE on Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S TODAY. Singular Perception’s co-op space ROGUELIKE enters Early Access on September 19, 2026, two days after the original TARGET, at $11.99. SteamVR Early Access is still lined up for October.

That SLIP was not quiet marketing. Singular Perception emailed UploadVR that Quest Early Access moved from September 17 to September 19. The studio’s own press PAGE still listed the seventeenth; the STORE date is what matters now. Metaverse Watcher covered the DELAY and those early impressions; this post is the LAUNCH beat.
Three Seats. One Ship. Almost No Solo Path.
Sol Protocol is built around The Pathfinder, a fully interactive SPACESHIP with three interchangeable STATIONS: captain, pilot, and gunner. According to UploadVR’s hands-on, the CAPTAIN allocates ENERGY across shields, engines, warp, and weapons. The PILOT flies. The GUNNER tracks targets through a head-tracking VISOR. Miss a role and the LOOP breaks — which is the POINT.
UploadVR’s James Galizio put it cleanly: if you have no interest in MULTIPLAYER, Sol Protocol offers virtually NOTHING. Most of the RUN lives on the bridge. Between WARPS you check a star MAP, spend energy to JUMP, then hunt resources while enemies CLOSE. Outside the hull, ZERO-GRAVITY movement and oxygen management take over as you salvage stations and wrecks.

What the Studio Promised Before Launch
In August, UploadVR reported the September Quest TARGET and a $9.99 pre-order that would rise to $12.99 at full RELEASE. Day-of pricing in the impressions piece sits at $11.99 — treat that as the LIVE Early Access ticket until Meta’s store card says otherwise. Steam remains the OCTOBER lane.
Singular Perception framed the fantasy against three clear REFERENCES: the delisted Star Trek: Bridge Crew, FTL: Faster Than Light, and Void Crew. Procedural star systems, ship upgrades, and crew COORDINATION are the pitch — not a single-player campaign with bots bolted on as an afterthought.
The studio also said it is building Automa systems — autonomous helpers for when a three-person CREW cannot form — plus alternate ship CONFIGURATIONS for smaller parties. Those tools are still DEVELOPMENT work, not a finished solo MODE. Launch-day buyers should expect the co-op CORE first.

Early Access Reality Check
UploadVR liked the FOUNDATION and still flagged QUEST 3 PERFORMANCE: frame drops and reprojection ARTIFACTS that the studio will need to iron out across Early Access. Scope is also THIN by design — a promising LOOP, not a finished campaign. Comfort options include vignettes plus smooth and SNAP turning, which matters in a ZERO-G title that will Nauseate some players.
VR.org’s September 18 week-in-review listed the same SLIP — Quest tomorrow, Steam in October — inside a Frame-heavy week. For Meta’s storefront, Sol Protocol is one of the few new co-op DROPS that is not riding Steam Frame lottery NOISE.
Why the Launch Matters
Bridge-crew VR has been a GRAVEYARD since Bridge Crew left storefronts. Sol Protocol bets that QUEST 3’s install BASE can revive the genre if the ship FEELS shared. Early Access on September 19 is the first public TEST of that bet: three friends, one Pathfinder, and enough systems to FAIL together.
Wishlist and store links live on Steam and Meta’s Quest listing. Singular Perception’s press page still describes the studio as the team behind Epyka, now shipping its second Horizon title into a crowded September CALENDAR.
