MUSE, Meta’s consumer AI AGENT, is MOVING from phones and the web onto AI glasses. UploadVR reports the company will let wearers keep the phone POCKETED while Muse takes real ACTIONS — booking, shopping, and research — rather than only ANSWERING chat prompts. The pitch is simple: stay HANDS–FREE and still get work DONE without a screen TAP.
UploadVR’s David Heaney, writing TODAY, notes that Muse already launched earlier this MONTH on smartphones and the web in the US and CLIMBED App Store charts. Powered by Muse Spark, Meta says the agent runs on a PRIVATE persistent Linux virtual machine in the cloud — with its own browser, filesystem, and terminal that keep WORKING even when the companion app is CLOSED.
What Changes on Glasses
On glasses, Meta’s examples include BOOKING appointments, checking FLIGHT prices, finding REPLACEMENT parts, logging meals, offering workout GUIDANCE, and helping buy products the wearer can SEE. Activation is VOICE-first: say “Hey Muse,” or the name of your Muse, make a REQUEST, then let the agent work in the BACKGROUND and check back when the task FINISHES.
At Connect 2026, Meta also said Muse on AI glasses can ACT on what you are looking at, so you do not have to DESCRIBE a shelf product, a wall flier, or a school-supply list. Official timing language still SPLITS: Meta’s written materials say “in the coming months,” while Mark Zuckerberg on stage said “in the coming weeks,” and CTO Andrew Bosworth said “soon,” UploadVR reports. Wearers should treat the window as NEAR-term, not a hard calendar LOCK.
Payments, Privacy, and Scope
For payments, Muse uses Stripe’s Link with virtual single-use cards so the agent never sees a personal card number. Meta says Shop Pay and 1Password support are COMING. The company states it does not use Muse data for advertising, though it may use it to train future models unless users OPT out. A Confidential VM option — which Meta says even it cannot access — is promised later this year. That is the privacy CLAIM to watch as glasses become a default Muse ENDPOINT.
Meta’s Connect recap also lists new Muse connectors — including major retailers and work tools such as Notion, GitHub, and Box — and says Muse will get its own email address for completing tasks. That software story sits alongside the hardware flood of Ray-Ban Meta Audio, Gen 3 frames, and Meta VR Glasses. Muse-on-glasses is the KEY piece that turns a GLANCE into a delegated JOB, and it is the angle that still stood APART from today’s display pricing and hands-on hardware posts.
