TechCrunch reports that Meta’s personal AI agent Muse is now LIVE on Mac. The DESKTOP app can act inside native APPLICATIONS — FILES, messages, CALENDAR, notes, and MAIL — under opt-in ACCESS controls.
According to TechCrunch’s September 18 write-up, Muse asks for APPROVAL before sensitive actions and lets the user decide what the AGENT can reach. That matches Meta’s earlier SAFETY pitch: Muse runs on a dedicated Secure VM, a separate Sentinel gatekeeps outbound TRAFFIC, and credentials stay out of the agent’s view.
Meta AI chief Alexandr Wang posted the Mac LAUNCH on September 17, saying the agent can now get work done on the COMPUTER while the person stays in CONTROL. Mark Zuckerberg replied that the team is “shipping FAST.” TechCrunch notes Muse and rival agent Instinct both rolled out VOICE calling the same week as the race for consumer agent share heats up.
The wearables ANGLE still matters. Meta’s September 8 Introducing Muse post said the agent was rolling out on iOS, Android, and muse.ai — and COMING SOON to AI GLASSES. That promise has not SHIPPED yet. Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley frames already run Meta AI powered by Muse Spark, but the full Muse AGENT on the face remains a FUTURE surface, not a store SKU.
Meta Connect opens September 23–24 in Menlo Park. Muse on Mac is the desktop half of Meta’s AGENT push in the same week the company is expected to preview camera-free Luna GLASSES and the ultralight Phoenix mixed-reality HEADSET. The Mac app does not change those rumors. It does show Meta is shipping the agent STACK hard before the KEYNOTE.
