Omega Pilot Evolution now has a hard Steam day. The store page for app 5181480 lists September 17, 2026 — four days out — for XOCUS’s anti-gravity racer after the title has already been live on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR2 since August 13. Meta’s Quest listing still reads Coming September 2026. Pico remains a fall target from the August showcase materials.

That calendar matters because September 17 is already crowded on the VR board. UploadVR’s September slate stacks CleanSheet Soccer 2, Sol Protocol, CONVRGENCE 1.0, and EXOSHOCK’s open beta the same morning Sony kills Firewall Ultra. Omega Pilot is the PC VR racing slot that was missing from that stack until Steam locked the day.
What is live today
On PlayStation, PlatPrices and the U.S. store concept page put the game at $19.99. One SKU covers flatscreen PS5 and optional PS VR2 — Sense controllers and headset vibration are supported, not required. UploadVR’s August 13 launch report and Road to VR’s August 2026 VR Games Showcase write-up describe the same product brief: VR or flat, first- or third-person, cross-platform lobbies so headset and TV players share sessions.
Feature set confirmed across those sources and the Steam about-text:
- Real-time multiplayer for up to five players, plus asynchronous / ghost rivals and leaderboards
- Combat racing with blasters, EMPs, shields, and tactical pickups
- Ship upgrades for speed, handling, and durability, plus visual customization
- OpenXR VR support on the Steam build; Windows 10/11 with a GTX 1070 Ti–class floor
Road to VR’s showcase notes also cite 28 tracks, Championship events, and quick bot races — useful detail that sits beside the shorter Steam blurb.

Platform clock
XOCUS (makers of EXOcars) and publisher Funtech Publishing Ltd put the PS5 / PS VR2 build out during the August 13 VR Showcase. UploadVR then pointed Quest at August 27, with Steam and Pico for fall. The public storefronts have since tightened: Steam now says September 17; Quest still says September without a day; Steam Deck is named in the showcase synopsis alongside Steam and Pico.
PSN ratings on PlatPrices recently sat around 4.17 / 5 from a few dozen reviews — early and thin, but enough to show the PlayStation audience is already in the lobby while PC waits four days.
Why it fits the week
Wipeout-style VR racing is still a thin shelf. A $19.99 PS5 SKU that already includes VR, a dated Steam unlock on the busiest content day of the month, and a Quest listing still pending a day stamp is a clean beat for readers tracking September’s software pile — without needing a hardware reveal to justify the calendar.
Wishlist or buy on the PlayStation Store, track the Steam page for the September 17 unlock, and treat Quest as September-until-proven-otherwise. Primary reporting: UploadVR, Road to VR’s showcase roundup.
