The public DEMO for Dream Hackers VR is now live on Steam. After a private preview that left UploadVR calling the title its most anticipated 2027 release, ARVI VR has opened a SteamVR demo anyone can download and play.

This is not a teaser trailer drop. The demo delivers roughly 1.5 to 2 HOURS of playable content across surreal dreamscapes, combat encounters, and light environmental puzzles. The full game remains dated for 2027, with price still to be announced.
What the Demo Puts in Your Hands
Dream Hackers VR is a made-for-VR action-adventure ROGUELIKE from ARVI VR. Players join the Dream Hackers team, use a Dream Machine, and DESCEND through collective dreams packed with living nightmares and ancient bosses. The store pitch is pure SteamVR fantasy-action: short runs, escalating threat, and enough environmental oddity to keep exploration from becoming filler.
Steam store copy frames the loop clearly: infiltrate unpredictable dream layers, BATTLE escalating waves, forge builds from weapons and artifacts, and hunt secrets inside mirages and cryptic puzzles. Official materials list FIVE dream missions for the finished game, each designed to run more than an hour. That structure matters for PC VR players who want a session length they can finish between work blocks.

Why UploadVR Called It a 2027 Stand-Out
In an August 6 preview, UploadVR’s James Tocchio spent about an hour or two with a developer demo and wrote that Dream Hackers VR is the VR game he is most EXCITED for in 2027. The write-up praised art direction, world design, and “viscerally satisfying” GUNPLAY, while noting AI-assisted voiceover that still needs work and combat music that can feel out of step with the quieter exploration cues.
That preview ran on a Meta Quest 3S over Steam Link on an RTX 2070 Super-class PC. The public demo now lets Steam owners TEST the same loop without a press invite, which is the useful part of this week’s news: claim meets player verification.

Platform, Specs, and AI Disclosure
Steam lists the title as VR-only, single-player, with Steam Achievements and Steam Cloud. Supported headsets include Meta Quest 2 / 3 / 3S / Pro, Valve Index, HTC Vive family devices, and Pico Neo 3 / Pico 4 / Pico 4 Ultra, typically via PC VR link rather than native standalone. That puts the demo squarely in the streaming-and-tethered PC VR lane that Valve’s Steam Frame ecosystem is also trying to grow.
MINIMUM specs call for Windows 10, an Intel i7-9700 or Ryzen 3700X, 16 GB of RAM, and a GTX 1080 / RX 5700 XT-class GPU with 65 GB of storage. Recommended specs jump to Windows 11, an i7-13700 or Ryzen 7900X, 24 GB of RAM, and an RTX 4070 / RX 7800 XT. Steam also discloses generative AI tools for voiceover and localization, with human review claimed by the team.

Why This Matters Now
With Steam Frame shipping, Meta Connect days away, and the PC VR pipeline still hungry for polished action experiences, a public demo of a 2027 roguelike is useful SIGNAL. Players can judge the fantasy combat loop TODAY. Studios can study how ARVI is packaging surreal world design for SteamVR audiences without waiting for a closed beta list.
The demo is LIVE on Steam. Wishlist the full game if the preview loop sticks. Price and a firm 2027 window still sit with ARVI VR, and that is fine for now — the point of a public demo is to earn the wishlist with playable proof, not another keynote slide.
